What About Those Heroes, Do Any Of Them Get On Your Nerves?

Dimitri is getting on my last nerve in the last couple of books, then he will turn around and be diff again,I don`t know what to expect of him in this last book anymore

I do recall not liking the hero in Tears of Jade. Too secretive, and he still slept with his wife (no love for her but she 'knew which buttons to push') while in love with the heroine. That was an ick factor for me.

That is definitely an ick thing to do!!

I don`t care for h that play too big of a part in the story and blocks the H out.Thats one of the reasons I like JR Wards h and her stories so much, and its one of the reasons I don`t like Chick Lit
Bradford Maitland from Glorious Angel by Johanna Lindsey
Gray from After the Night by Linda Howard
Hero from Perfect Sin by Kat Martin
Jared Burkett from Paradise Wild by Johanna Lindsey
Heroes who are completely awful to the heroine and don't make up for it or grovel, or for no good reason definitely get on my nerves. Diana Palmer heroes are usually pretty tortured or messed up, and they make amends, so most of them redeem themselves well.
I don't like heroes who have no respect for women and treat them like disposable kleenex. That's why I don't care for a lot of rake heroes.
I really, really, really don't like cheaters! I will avoid most books with cheaters.

I have got to say I have never read a hero that has cheated on the heroine, the closest would be BDB when Rhage goes off to that bar and has sex to calm the dragon whilst he is with Mary, I didn't like that ery much but you understood why, so I still adore Rhage.
Edward and Jacob from Twilight get on my wick sometimes. Especially Edward, he is older and should know better. Lol sometimes I read them and wish Wrath or Bones would show up in them and see what happens.
Also Bill, and Alcide from the Sookie Stakehouse series, they annoy me sometimes aswell.

You are right about Bill and Alcide,I guess there are more that bother me somewhat than I realized, but I do remember the h that do.

Danielle - I wonder how a man who has no respect for women be called or even labelled a hero.

lol
lol

Kiyo for Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series. I didn't care for him in either book.
Richard from LKH's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series.

omg ditto. I wanted to slap him silly sometimes and yell, grow some damn balls! [can I say that on here? sorry!:]
speaking of LKH, some of her weepy Merry Gentry sperm donors make my eye twitch. Nicca, Kitto, Bedmate 3, Bedmate 11, Frost when he's whiny, hell, even Barinthus in the last book made me want to stab him. ugh.
Okay, so LKH and I are currently fighting, as you can see - I am having issues with her latest offerings. Anita and I haven't spoken in years and Merry is really really close to being put on my Do Not Call list. It's so disheartening to see an author butcher her characters like LKH has done.....

That is too funny!! I am not there yet, but....

Another bad hero for me was Alex from Potent Pleasures by Eloisa James. The man kept belittling, shouting and calling the heroine a liar and a cheat every once in a while and she -of course she belongs in the heroines who annoy me list as well- kept forgiving him in a heartbeat. Plus, he didn't grovel much in the end.
I know I'm gonna hit a lot of people's buttons with this one, but a hero who annoyed me -though I didn't hate him- was Freddie from Liz Carlisle's The devil you know. Yeah, people love this book, but Freddie kept this 'woo, poor me' style for way too long and for reasons, that well, didn't quite convince me.
I'm glad it's not just me, Fani. I thought that guy was really repugnant, Fani. I wanted a house to fall on him.

Could you tell me who you are talking about here so I won`t buy them and have to dispose of them. Are they a series and who is this author,is it the LKH you posted Darcy?
I used to know who that is but never read her so I forgot(Brain Spaz)

hi,
that reminds me of one of the books in the Ice Series by Anne Stuart. If i'm not wrong it's the book before the last.
In the final "scene", that i found ...eh...weird...and to dramatic for me..the hero does the kneeling part..because he was oh! so sorry for being a jerk all this time. Like you said, the heroin had left the guy before, so it was surprise surprise!
I did liked the guy, even being a jerk (he only was like that to protect her, of course), but the end was a bit of a ..WTF are you doing man?
Well, if it isn't the book you talked about..it means there's at least two people who like to have men doing the running to your arms and kneel thing..
I truly hate Bill from the Sookie Stakehouse..he's always depressed..and makes a lot of stupid decisions..much like sookie, but that's another story.
I don't like when heroes are MEGA protective and controlling over the fair lady, and (at the same time)don't mind having sex with every thing that moves (that has boobs, 'course)...but if the lady tries to talk to another men, HE (the poor guy who talks to the lady) MUST DIE!! that's just annoying...
Oh, and yeah..when heroes are man-whores it's annoying to see them asking the lady's how many lovers did they had. I mean, you're a slut and you get jealous because your lady friend had sex with her ex? at least she knew the guy..uff, i kinda needed to get that out...´
and i don't have anything against sluts or man-whores
...bye
and sorry for some bad words

I used to kno..."
LKH is Laurell K. Hamilton, she writes 2 series, the Anita Blake series and the Merry Gentry series.

Thanks,I guess I won`t be buying any of these books."
You may not want to buy her books, but the early Anita ones are good and worth checking out at the library.

That describes him perfectly. He is so spoiled that it is funny especially when he starts talking about his hair.

You're not alone. I think Phury gets picked on for being flawed. He's no more flawed than the other brothers. His flaws just don't seem as 'sexy' as the other Brothers, IMHO.

Phury was an afterthought is a perfect summary of that book ,I thought so too
And I thought it a little strange to be in the same house together for a month, and neither one of them even said Hi???
Ward is a great writer but I just never could catch up with her in this book.
Darcy,
I do think your right that she did match them up perfectly, after it all ended I never was sure where they did end up or really even care what kind of job he ended up with.

You're not alone. I loved it. But I love all the WARDen's books. Dark Lover and Lover Eternal are four star reads. The rest are five stars. I guess I need to reread them and see if I'd like them more now.

I liked Cormia and Phury, they were sweet, but I also agree with Kathy Anne that they are different from the other couples, they weren't as aggressive

I don't think he stepped out of line with Bella. I consider Phury a gentleman (although I didn't like the prostitute scene at all).

So ladies, do you care to share the names of the hero that has gotten on your nerves, if there are any?
