Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Okay if anyone reads this I have a question. Can we add pages of books we've already read or is it from the time we started?

message 4: by Sherri (new)

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 170 comments It's starting from the beginning of 2010.

message 5: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks:) I wasn't sure.

message 6: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Okay so I have 4,533 pages for this year. I'll try to remeber the books that I've read and get a list going soon. But I've recenlty finished Rules of Attraction and Ink Exchange.

message 7: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Just Finished Shadow of Colossus which was 390 pages. It was sooo good! Anyway I now have 4,923 pages.

message 8: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Looking forward to your list, Kate. Great reading so far this year! :D.

message 9: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks Z! So far my list just consists of the books I've posted on the other groups. I'm going to try to get a list of books that I have to read, but it's going to be big.

message 10: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Well you can just post by month or whatever. Whatever works for you. :).

message 11: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Well I have so many to read and I'm never sure what mood I'm going to be in, you know what mood for which book but I'll try to get it up soonish.:)

message 12: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Finished Bite Me! for 296 pages and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella for 178 pages. Which leaves me at a grand total of 5,397.

message 13: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Soonish works fine, Kate. Don't rush yourself into too soon. I also have a lot to finish. Take your time if you have to. :).

How'd you like Bree Tanner? I gave it 4 stars/kisses/wings. :D

message 14: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Great page total!!

message 15: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks, it's getting there! I really liked Bree Tanner, I finished it in two days. I also gave it a four for everything. I really wish Deigo would have been in it more before his unfortunate end. I also wish that Meyer would have clarified that a little bit more but oh well. All in all I really liked it!

message 16: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yeah, same here about Diego. You know what I think? I think they were "soulmates", or as far as that term goes in Twilight. :D.

message 17: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments I totally agree! I really wanted more. I felt like he really wasn't in the book that much and then it didn't really say that he flat out died, it kind of only for me implied that Bree thought he died, even though I'm pretty sure he did die. And what about Riley, did he die? I really liked Fred though and I kind of want to know more about what happens to him though.

message 18: by Zakiya (last edited Jul 20, 2010 12:04PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yes, Fred was a great character to have. I wish we could have seen more of him. And Riley... well, have you read Eclipse? Because if you have, then you know of course that he died, but it makes a difference. Actually, I think Edward said something about he killed Victoria and Riley. So Meyer did actually solve the "Is Riley dead?" question.

message 19: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments I did but it was such a long time ago so I don't really remember Riley, since he probably played a small part. Oh, yeah I guess I was just reading so fast I missed that part. :)

message 20: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Understandable. :). And yes, he did have a really small part, easy to miss him.

message 23: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Great list Kate! I'm not sure if the second one's ... wow. That's a lot of books you still have on your floor. How do you get around your room???? LOL! But this is good so far; happy reading!

message 24: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments It is a huge list. There not really that big on my floor but I'm being banished to the library now, thanks to my mom. It's probably better that way. I'm planning on finishing lots of these before school starts. I've been flying through books lately so that's good. Oh and apperently at the library I have about 15 books I need to pick up. I didn't know that when I put them on hold that they'd let me get so many at once. I'll be getting lots of stares when I walk out of there, lol.

message 25: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yep, def a lot of stares coming your way! Haha; we haven't been inside our library in ages. Wow. I think my whole floor would be covered. I'd have to either super-jump or walk on top of the books to get around. LOL.

message 26: by Heather (new)

Heather (nickyblue7) | 486 comments that is n awesome list there, u will have to tell me what you think about them (didnt read most of them)

message 27: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks, the whole long long list I haven't read yet but if you want I'll let you know how I like them as I read them. I'm planning on trying to read most of them before school starts for me.

message 28: by Heather (new)

Heather (nickyblue7) | 486 comments kay thanks :)

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, Kate, you have lots of books wating to be read! It's a good thing, 'cause I always run out of new books quickly. I wish I had that many books in my room, still unread! And you have a very good memory, considering you recalled all those books relying only on your memory!

From your list, I have read:

-Wake
-This Lullaby
-Frostbite
-The Bermudez Triangle
-The Morganville Vampires
-Tithe
-Private
-Just Listen
-Someone Like You
-The Strange Power, The Possessed, The Passion
-Impossible
-Twenty Boy Summer
-Blue Bloods
-Sloppy Firsts
-City of Ashes

All of them great, except for Tithe, in my opinion. But you might like it :)

* I noticed you have This Lullaby twice on your list :)
** I see that you have both Private and Privilege on your list. Considering that Privilege is a spin-off series of Private, I think you should read at least the first four books in Private before reading the Privilege series. (FYI: Privilege came out after the 8th Private book :)

message 30: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks Ginny! :) We do seem to have some of the same taste in books. I'm not sure if I'll like Tithe, based on what people have said about it but I have it and I'm going to read it.

I'll change the 2 This Lullaby's, thanks. :)

I'll have to read the Private series before Privilege. Thganks, I was wondering about those books since they had the same charaters and which one came out first and which one to read first, so thank you!

You wouldn't happen to know about the prequel to Private called Last Christmas (Private, Prequel)? I think I should read all the other books first since it seems like it was one of those prequels after the series, but I'm not sure. Thanks Ginny!

message 31: by Sherri (new)

Sherri (sherrij2003) | 170 comments I've read all the Privlege and Private books! Love them.

I'd read the first 4 books than read Last Christmas and start the Privlege books.

Last Christmas will give too much stuff away that keep the first 4 books going / mysterious and I don't think they would be as interesting...but if you read it after than everything will make sense and it will shock you at all that Ariana has done.

Also, Ariana is in the spin-off Privlege but it pretty much takes after the first 4 Private books.

They are all excellent reads though...and FYI they leave massive cliff hangers so make sure you have a bunch to read at the same time so you don't have to wait!

message 32: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks Sherri! :) I guess I could have just looked at the copyright dates but I didn't think of it. Now I know to start with the first 4 books in Private before reading Privlege and maybe a few more before I read Last Christmas. Thanks!

message 33: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Okay so I recently finished Wake with 210 pages, Insiders with 280 pages, and today I just finished Raised by Wolves with418 pages. So before I get into how I liked the books I'll do the calculating. So after doing the math by hand I have 22 books read and 6,305 pages for the year.

Wake- Personally I didn't like Wake to much. It was good but not great or anything, at least not for me. I know people who love it and , like me, think it's just okay. I'm not sure why but it never really kept my interest like other books too. It was good and I recomend it but it would not ever be my first or even twentith pick.

Insiders- I liked this book. I was surprised because I'm not a person that really likes to read about New Yorkers that have everything and basically all they do is go to parties, get drunk, do drugs, and hook-up and then repeat all over again. For some reason I liked it, it was a nice funny chick lit read. A nice light summer read.

Raised by Wolves- I can't say enough about this book so I'll just leave a link to my review of it. http://ikissbooks.blogspot.com/2010/0...

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

You are more than welcome, Kate! And Sherri's right, the Private books have really mean cliffhangers.
I think it'd be okay to read the prequel Last Christmas after reading the first four books in Private series. I'm planning to do so myself :)

And yes, we really do seem to have the same taste in quite a few books after all! (which is maybe not that surprising, since we're at the same age and everything :)

message 35: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Okay so I've been really busy with family and getting ready for school, can't believe that I start on Wed! That's just crazy. of and we have to dress up for mass, I go to Catholic school. Not that any of you needed to know that but I just can't believe that we have a mass on the first day of school!

Okay so now for all the books I've read as of late.

Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs Oh. My. Gods. 264 pages- Okay so first off the covers really cute huh? Well I really love it but I got the paperback cover, which is different. I was going to splurge and get the harcover but it was $7 more so I decided to save my money. Anyway really cute book overall. Good book to read before school starts. It is a really funny good book.

Stolen by Lucy Christopher Stolen 299 pages- Here's my review on it- http://ikissbooks.blogspot.com/2010/0...

A Match Made in High School by Kristin Walker A Match Made in High School 278 pages- This book was a good read but not one of my favorites. I'm glad I read it though. The only reason I didn't love it was the ending and it everyhting didn't go the way that I thought it would, it worked for some stuff but for other things it didn't really work, for me at least.

Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins Hex Hall 323 pages- Again here's my review- http://ikissbooks.blogspot.com/2010/0...

Forget You by Jennifer Echols Forget You 292 pages- Just started this book last Fri. and finished yesterday. I really loved this book. I usually really like Ms. Echols books but I loved this one. I hated that it wasn't longer and that we didn't get more of it and certain relationships that characters have. Otherwise I really loved it!

Okay so that is now 7,761 pages that I've read this year.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow, good going!

message 37: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks Ginny! I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to 20K but I'm trying. Unfortunatly school starts for me 2morrow so I'm not sure how much reading I'll be able to get in.

message 38: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Whoops I forgot, this is the 1,000,000 page count. My goal for the year was 20K.

message 39: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments We'll work together Kate I think our page count is about the same at the moment. My first goal is 10K by early next month though.

message 40: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments I hope that I can break 10K by the end of October because after that I'm going to be doing National Novel Writing Month so that'll probably take up my reading time. :)

message 41: by Kate (last edited Aug 17, 2010 03:48PM) (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments I just finished Almost to Die For (A Vampire Princess of St. Paul, #1) by Tate Hallaway Almost to Die For and it had 241 pages. I can tell you that I really liked it. If you want more I'll post my review that I write on Fri. So I now have 8,002 pages! I can't believe that I may acutally reach my goal!

message 42: by Heather (new)

Heather (nickyblue7) | 486 comments Good Luck :D

message 43: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Thanks Heather!

message 44: by Heather (new)

Heather (nickyblue7) | 486 comments ur welcome :)

message 45: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Awesome job, Kate! :D

Leonor made the group blog a Twitter account, check it out! (http://www.twitter.com/ikissbooks) Do you think we should make a Facebook account for it as well, to help get the message out there even more?

message 46: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Hey Z sorry for the wait on the comment. I love the twitter! I think making a Facebook would be really awesome and really get us out there! Though, as you know I can't help with that. :(

message 47: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Okay so I'm currently reading Insatiable by Meg Cabot, so I'll add that to my list soon.

I have recently finished Tall, Dark & Dead with 295 pages and The Tempest by William Shakespeare with 171 pages, hey even if it's a school book if you read it it counts. So I now have 8,468 pages this year.

message 48: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 1455 comments Kate you are doing well. I am just a couple hundred behind you now.

message 49: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Kate wrote: "Hey Z sorry for the wait on the comment. I love the twitter! I think making a Facebook would be really awesome and really get us out there! Though, as you know I can't help with that. :("

I understand. My mom won't let me start it, but she said I could help out with it. And s'okay about the waiting; I understand your busyness :).

message 50: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 94 comments Well I'm pretty sure that we're all busy, with school and stuff. :) And I still don't have a facebook, so helping is pretty much next to impossible.
