To the casual observer it seemed like a forgotten toy left in the bathtub.

However, this was not the situation.

The rubber duck was waiting for the monster. The creature that lurked in the drain, sucking hapless bath toys down its maw, as well as an occasional toe.

But not today. No, today the pride of the duckies was ready for action and that monster was in his sights. For this was a special rubber duck, genetically modified for combat, with special telepathic abilities.

Screeeckk! Claws on metal climbing upward and the duck was ready.
Glurg! Splash!
Down went the Drano into the monster’s maw.

Steven (tbones) | 408 comments Thanks another great one. I tell ya if I was a rich guy I'd start my own TV network with shows based off of stories like yours A.F. I can see your short stories being made into shows very easily. Ya know maybe someday you could get something set up online like Dean Koontz has with his Odd Thomas webisodes. There's got to be a way to get you connected to a producer or film company.

Wendy (wendyswore) | 4 comments AF. Very cute. Lose 5 words and it's a drabble that you can enter for the OFW July challenge and on my blog where the prize is a book of your choice.

It's fun seeing where our littl innocent rubber duck conversation took your brain. :)

It doesn't take much to send my brain off on tangents.

Steven (tbones) | 408 comments Twisted Toy Tales would be so much fun. I can see it now...a comic book series and even a video game based off of this stuff. Ah how much fun that would be.
A.F. unless you are already good with illustrating, there is a great site you might be able to find someone if you ever wanted to pitch a comic series, it's called DeviantArt.com. You could have a field day just visiting and looking through all the thumbnails of the artwork, and maybe having something give you more ideas for your stories.

I've heard of DeviantArt.com; I may check it out.

Steven (tbones) | 408 comments I think you might get a bit addicted to Deviant. I did. I have some of my own artwork up there but it's such a cool site since it has art from every medium. I think they even have a writing section as well. Just type what ever medium or even subject in their search and you will get to check out some great stuff.
