Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments I am an aspiring author. And I do mean aspiring. So far all I have is a brief overview of my novel and series. I read all the time as well as write through reviews for Romance Reviews Today, Paranormal Romance Junkies and Night Owl Romance. I have tried and failed many times to write a novel. I always sit down to write and well I never have a very good and full idea. This time, however, I am really sprouting off things that could get the ball rolling.

It is a paranormal/mystery/developing romance. If you do not read PNR or UF this post is most likely not for you. Still interested?

I need someone to read my over view and tell me if it is a good place to start. My CP would allow me to bounce ideas off of them and keep the info flowing. This person would not just read the synopsis though, if possible, it would be great to have someone who I can trust not to leak my idea to others and stick with it until the gritty end. I need encouragment people! You authors know how it is. Determination only goes so far. I need a CP who, if they haven't heard from me in a while can email and ask me where the h*** I am! :)

This of course is not just a one way street. Everything I need out of a CP, I am willing to give back. So if you are up to the challenge please PLEASE reply here or email me at book3junkie@ aol.com.

THANKS!

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments Hi Lenore! I'd be willing to be your partner, if you haven't had anyone volunteer already. I'm also an aspiring author and I'm working on co-authoring something with a friend right now...but it's going very slowly. I might not have anything for you to read for a while, but I'd be willing to bounce around ideas and stuff.

Let me know!

What genres do you write in? What genres do you read?

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments Jessica, Haprper Look this over and see if it is an idea that you are interested it. THANKS.

WHERE: OWL CITY, the deepest part of Detroit, MI. It is a place only for the paranormal. Regulated by the hellhounds.

WHEN: Modern day

WHO: Vampires, werewolves, fae, etc. they all live in owl city. Hellhounds are demons who are charged with keeping the paranormal world under control and under wraps. They work for Lucifer to keep the paranormal creatures out of the human world so that he may follow the prophecy of Armageddon. They can change form to blend with the humans at will; however, their true nature is in the shape of a dog. Not wolf, dog. The hellhounds are the police the judge, and the jury. They decide who lives and dies and how the evil (or more evil) are punished.

WHAT: Creatures have always ventured out to create chaos in the human world. I plan to use real life human crimes and combine them with paranormal elements. My story will not be just UF. I hope to combine the imagination of fantasy with the adrenaline of thriller with the curiosity of a mystery. It will have an overall goal, but each book will be centered around one crime, one mystery.

WHY: The overall series plot: Monsters are banning together against Lucifer's army. They want to overthrow the Dark King, and they plan to do it by corrupting the human world. One mortal at a time.....

Sorry I'm late responding! I thought I'd clicked to be emailed if anyone replied, but I must not have.

The novel I'm working on right now is paranormal romance. It could possibly turn into a series, but we haven't decided yet. Mainly I write romance. Up to now, I've mostly written fanfiction, though I have done some original stuff. Some of my fics were contemporary, some historical, but all of them were primarily romance.

As for what I read, I'm kind of all over the place. I love paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I'm also a fan of fantasy, sci-fi, and mystery-suspense. My favorite genre is romance, although I prefer historicals. I'll read contemporary romance occasionally, especially if it's romantic suspense. But I'll pretty much read anything, from YA to erotica.

Interesting premise. So it's going to be an urban fantasy/mystery series? The setting (Owl City) is going to remain constant, I assume. Is there going to be a central character in each book or will they all be different?

Are you planning to use actual, documented true crime cases in the books and just give them paranormal elements?

message 8: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments Yes I intend it to be a if series set in one place and mainly following a single character in first person. I would like, if possible, to use actual crimes and twist them just a tad.

I'd be happy to help you out. I am not a writer so I'm not going to use your ideas, but I am good to comment already written texts and have a few ideeas. I also read a lot, different genres but lately more Paranormal/UF/ and some Erotica. So your choice.

message 10: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments That might work Socrate. What are some of your more favorite titles or authors.

message 11: by Ez (new)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments I'm still willing to help, Lenore, but it's whatever you're more comfortable with. If you wanted me to help, you could always message me.

message 12: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments I will. Right now, I have nothing to critique. It seems like when I need time it just disappears!!! I haven't been able to come up with a mystery idea yet. It is rather time consuming to sort through all the junk on the internet. LOL

message 14: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments I looked through the second. I will have to do look through it again. Thanks.

Socrate | 16 comments Lenore *--*Phierce*-- * wrote: "That might work Socrate. What are some of your more favorite titles or authors."

Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Lora Leigh, Alexandra Ivy, Christine Feehan, Chloe Neill, Shelly Laurenston. But if you look at my books I read a lot of different authors.

Kyle Borland (kgborland) Lenore, I am an aspiring writer who writes almost anything. I've been published in literary magazines and have another story being published in August. I LOVE the editting process so helping you would be no stretch of a hobby for me.

I write mainly urban fantasy but I do read paranormal romance. Your idea sounds great and I would be willing to help you flesh it out, brainstorm, edit, etc. My email is [email protected]

I need a CP too so having one on file would be awesome.

Wow I'm really late to respond sorry. I'm writing an urban fantasy and read a little of everything, but mostly uf and pnr.

I need someone to make be accountable. My husband has been helping but my writing is not really his cup of tea.
