Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I just realized that I have to up in 5 hours, so I'll just answer a few for now.

The 1st book I remember reading was Pokey the Little Puppy, or The Little Pokey Puppy. Its one of those books with the gold binding.

If someone gave me $30 to spend on books today, I'm not sure what I'd buy. I do know that I'd go to the used bookstore and go crazy!

My fav place to read is in my livingroom

You're so right! Between staying up late and the heat today, I came home after work and fell asleep before I knew it.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments To finish the rest of the questions:
*Which character in a book do you think is most like you?

Rose from the Vampire Academy series. She can be impulsive and emotional at times. I've been accused of being that way. I hate to admit it, but my accusers are right 40% of the time.

*Which character in a book would you most like to be?

I'd have to say Rachel Morgan. I wouldn't mind being able to do some of the stuff she does; minus the close encounters with demons, Ivy, etc...

*What book do you plan to read next?
Urban Shaman by C.E. Murphy, Sinful by Charlotte Featherstone

*Which literary character would you most like to have a 'significant relationship' with?

Lucas from Nalini's Singh's Slave to Sensation.

I LOVE Jean-Claude!! My favorites from the series are books 1-6. After that, for me, they are hit or miss, and of course her writing style changed completely. You need to FINISH the series... how far did you get?

I only read books 1-9. I was more impressed with Jean-Claude in the earlier books. I traded books 10-13 or 14 in at the ubs, and I'm sorry that I did that.

I'm definitely pro Jean-Claude up until the later books. I thought he was the best thing since sliced bread in the very 1st book!

I've tried to read Jodi Picolt more than once and feel the same way you do; some of the subject matter is very heavy.

message 17: by Caleb (new)

Caleb (ccp981) *What was the first book you remember reading/being read? The first book that I remember having read was The Fox and The Hound.

*What is your favorite book of all time? Well, this would have to include my childhood then, so we'll go with There's a Wocket in my Pocket.

*Which book has left the most lasting impression on you? A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton and the reason for this is she got me started with reading regularly again. I hadn't done so for about ten years until this book.

*Which book have you read most frequently? The Twilight Saga

*What books are on your bedside table at the moment? I just put them all back on the shelf, in my hand bag is My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

*Name one book/author that you really can't stand? House of Leaves. I just couldn't do it.

*What type of books do you like reading most? Anything paranormal romance like.

*If you were given $30 to spend on a book(s) today, what book(s) would you buy? Linger by Maggie Stiefvater and Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr

*Where's your favorite place to read? I really don't have one. It's preferable that it be a quiet place with okay lighting.

*Which character in a book do you think is most like you? I can identify well with Anita Blake. No, I can't raise zombies and I don't think that I could have so many boyfriends all at one time - but some of her traits and view points I get. An easy one, we both have a strong bond with coffee and emotional crap is not a friend to either of us - be it our own emotional crap or someone else's.

*Which character in a book would you most like to be? Oh geeze - I guess I would like to be Angelina Simone from Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts. Nothing too awful happened to her, she got a great guy and an awesome house.

message 20: by Megan (new)

Johnny Depp?

message 22: by Megan (new)

Megan | 1285 comments Yes! Johnny Depp for Jean-Claude. He'd need lifts in his shoes and adopt a French accent, but I think he'd be PERFECT!

message 23: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicasey) *What was the first book you remember reading/being read?
A Dr. Seuss book. Couldn't tell you which one.

*What is your favorite book of all time?
That's way too hard to pick. I always say that's like trying to pick which of my kids is my favorite. Impossible, they each have their best qualities.

*Which book has left the most lasting impression on you?
"Are you there God, It's Me, Margaret" or "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn".

*Which book have you read most frequently?
Ummm, do you read a book more than once on purpose?

*What books are on your bedside table at the moment?
None, I don't read before bed at night (not usually). That doesn't help me sleep. It only wakes me up.

*Name one book/author that you really can't stand?
Off the top of my head, I can't remember. I know there were some though.

*What type of books do you like reading most?
I guess what you would label as Rom-Com (Romantic Comedy), but that's movie genre and seems to put the emphasis on Romantic. So...how about Comedic Romance?

*If you were given $30 to spend on a book(s) today, what book(s) would you buy?
Nora Roberts first, Janet Evanovich 2nd, Jennifer Crusie, Dixie Cash, Carly Phillips, etc, etc, etc. I'd just work my way down the list of favorite funny/romantic girls/authors.

*Where's your favorite place to read?
Again hard to choose, but my oversized chair, couch, hanging chair on front porch, and pool side chair. (In order of preference.)

*Which character in a book do you think is most like you?
Eve

*Which character in a book would you most like to be?
Could I just hop stories? That would be fun.

*What book do you plan to read next?

*Which literary character would you most like to have a 'significant relationship' with? Oh definitely, Roarke. He accepts who she is, accepts who she wants to be, and helps her get there.

From the JD Robb series?

message 25: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments *What was the first book you remember reading/being read? Mickey and the Haunted House, where Mickey Mouse and friends' car breaks down, and they go up to a spooky old house and see "ghosts" and bats and stuff. Must be where my love of horror stories/movies began...

*What is your favorite book of all time? Wow, this question is way too tough to answer I think. If sticking to romance I'd still say it was a hard choice. Anything by Julia Quinn, I've loved all of her books. Or The Sherbrooke Bride (Brides, #1) by Catherine Coulter for nostalgia's sake. It was the first romance I ever read and the only one I've read 3 or 4 times.

*Which book has left the most lasting impression on you? Not sure on this one...

*Which book have you read most frequently? The Sherbrooke Bride (Brides, #1) by Catherine Coulter is the only romance I've read multiple times, though I've read most of Julia Quinn's stuff twice, and also some of Christina Dodd and Teresa Medeiros and Susan Wiggs I've read twice. Non-romance is The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, Book 1) by Stephen King . I've read the series 4 times, and will read them again in the future.

*What books are on your bedside table at the moment? The Love Slave by Bertrice Small and Just After Sunset by Stephen King

*Name one book/author that you really can't stand? I don't think there is any that I can't stand. At least not that I've found yet.

*What type of books do you like reading most? I'll read almost anything as long as it sounds interesting. I read horror, an occasional mystery, and regular fiction, though I tend to always come back to romance, it's like comfort food or something.

*If you were given $30 to spend on a book(s) today, what book(s) would you buy? Nothing in particular, but I'd go hunting the Goodwills and used stores for books, because $30 there goes a lot farther than $30 at the mall. :)

*Where's your favorite place to read? The couch or the chair in the living room.

*Which character in a book do you think is most like you? I can't think of one in particular. I find people in almost every book that I can relate to. Some better than others...

*Which character in a book would you most like to be? A Bridgerton probably, they have such a great family relationship and they all got their HEA... or any heroine that gets the devastingly tall, dark and handsome rake who's tough and masculine and honorable and swore never to love... lol

*What book do you plan to read next? Either Moonstruck Madness by Laurie McBain or Poison A Novel of the Renaissance by Sara Poole

*Which literary character would you most like to have a 'significant relationship' with? Roland Deschain of The Gunslinger definitely.

Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments My name is Michelle, and I'm addicted to Goodreads. You would think that I'd finish getting ready for work, and leave so I don't get stuck behind school buses, and could get a good parking spot. But no, I'm drinking coffee, browsing goodreads, and wishing I could stay home and read. Shame on me!
