Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments @Leo - Me and Lyss are going to war over a book because we have differing feelings on the matter. :D Fun Huh?!

Then, everyone leaves their comments and we will come back with rebuttles and then at the end of the day we see who wins.

I get to pull out the big guns and use my debating skills I learned in college. I'm very excited!

@Jencey - What do you mean format pages? The pages are all set up with html code and there is a section for editing the code. you have to be able to read and write code to fix the right part though. There are sites that will give you code for different layouts and such. You can add up to 10 extra pages on your blog on the "Posting" tab.

@Carla - Good luck, it's tons of fun. I have a blog that I do and I love it. it's www.intheclosetbibliophile.blogspot.com

i am hoping to do a giveaway soon. Keep posted to my blog to see when :D

Jencey/ (jencey) Thanks Jen for your input. I don't know where the htlm code is. When I bring up the prompts for pages all it says is click and drag gadgets under pages. So this hasn't been that clear to me. I will continue to play around with it. :)

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't see the question about the format. I'm not sure what you mean. The original page or to add more pages. When you drag gadgets on the edit page you can change the look of your page. It took me a while to figure out how to add pages.

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments Jencey the html code is on the design page. It used to be called the layout page, but they changed it in the last week or so. It says edit html.

If you don't read or write code, then you can pick up an html gadget on other sites that change your layout and just at a gadget, paste the code and the layout will change. if you google your questions, there is tons of help to show you how. It took me about a year to figure out the general workings of the blog and another year to figure out how to totally change my code and stuff. I'm a total nerd.

message 55: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Thank you for the info. I will check it out. :)

message 56: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, Jen is a whiz at all this stuff. I have her laughing at me when I try to fix html codes. LOL!

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments Not laughing... no I'm laughing, but it's mostly when you've fixed one thing but then lost something else. And that is only because I have this mental image of you standing up doing the happy dance only for it to be cut short and then yelling at your computer like it will comply to your dastardly html commands :D

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

If only those command could be spoken and if they are not taken care of immediately I could pull out a whip and make the computer work! If only.

Well, at least I'm learning and sort of having fun. Not to mention the short lived dance practice. :)

message 63: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Hey have you all considered using adsense on blogger?

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

No we have not talked about it. I don't have it on my other blogs or have spent any time trying to find out what it is about.

But we can check into it.

message 65: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) From what I read it is kind of like product placement. The one that google has suggested for my blog is amazon. I just wondered what your thoughts are?

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

It would work if they offered books. And with what little money we made from it we could use to buy giveaway books and stuff!

message 67: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments I haven't used it for mine either, but I've debated. I'd have to study up on it some more.

message 68: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** Hey Jen I took a quick peek at your blog this morning!!!!Looks great:) I can't wait til I have the time to set mine up...I gotta head to work now otherwise I browse a little more!!

message 69: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) True, I talked to my Dad about it and have decided to add it to mine. Dad thought it would be a great networking idea. The library I go and volunteer at, one of the ladies there told me a story. The story was about this lady who wrote reviews on books that people absolutely loved that Amazon went onto hire her. I don't know if the same could be said in this situation, but you never know what might happen.

message 70: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I tried to add the Amazon Associate to my blog and I kept getting kicked out. If you guys try it let me know. I wrote on the help forum for blogger.

message 71: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments @Carla - Thank you so much! I've put a lot of work into it. I'm so glad you like it! :D It makes me feel like I did something good.

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments Jencey - I will let you know, I would like to read up on the adsense a little more.

message 73: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Hey everyone. I just found something of greater interest. I get the newsletter from Simon and Schuster and found they have author widgets. What is so awesome about this is under the widget when you download it you can do the same thing we have been talking about with Amazon but with more companies (for example Barnes and Noble, Booksense, and etc.) The only problem I ran into is that I need to know how to get the access ids to go towards the widget. Keep you posted on my progress.

message 74: by Jen (new)

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments Thanks Jencey!

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes keep us posted.

message 76: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Well latest update. Now the Amazon widget is popping up but in order to finish setting up account you need associate id number. I emailed Amazon and asked for my id number. I also e-mailed the person at S&S to find out more how to do the other.

message 77: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I got the e-mail back from both Amazon and S&S. I really wish I could talk to someone at technical support. I haven't tried again yet with Amazon. The other is a needle in a haystack. Wish me well as I explore where the online book associate prompts are for Barnes and Noble, Booksense, and Amazon.

message 78: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments I totally love the blog! I need to figure out how to make my personal blog better! I have a couple chick lit reviews I have done in the recent pass that I could add. Explain how you would like me to send them to you for the site? If your up for it.... ( :

Sounds interesting Jency! I haven't seen that advertisement?

message 87: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) You have to look on their website. I also found it for Borders as well. Apparently this process is really slow. I just now got the information from Amazon.

message 88: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments Interesting. So what will you be doing?

message 89: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I will have a widget with Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I can sell for both and then include the book reviews in their as well.
