new_user | 1389 comments The whole UF genre is in the first person PoV, LOL. ;)

A GR tag search yields all these:

But to narrow it down for you, two series that I think are awesome, awesome works are:

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill

new_user | 1389 comments Nope! I know it looks like it because of the cover. I thought so too, but it's definitely not. :)

Both those series have good relationship development and humor, btw.

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 528 comments Nope! I love LOVE that series. The first and second are both excellent, but in different ways.

ൠSinful (sinful) | 118 comments Wow! Those are my 3 favorite series right now. They are so different that I am shocked that anyone would put them together like I have. Of the 3 I couldn't pick a very favorite.

To me Fever is very different from anything out there. My experience with Fever was much like my affair with Harry Potter. I craved the next book so I could figure out if my assumptions about what was going on were on the money or not. I know Moning has left clues along the way and before December I plan to start back with the highlander books and read through trying to put the puzzle together. I think the last one is out Dec7 or 28th. I've seen both dates.

Chicagoland Vampires: When I first started looking at it, I thought it looked absolutley hokey. Now, I stalk Chloe Neill's blog for teasers and I think I have read the books 3 times. (I don't re read anything very often.) Her books are very snarky. The tone to me is very Gilmore Girls. But it is an intelligent snark that fits the story. Not hokey at all. Nothing seems forced or wasted in this book. It is an effortless read that just whisks you into thier world. The first two books Neill rates as PG/PG13. She says the one coming out in July, Twice Bitten, is rated R. (Hopin this means a hook up - I won't say more. I don't want to spoil it.) Neill does relationships very well. Merit has all kinds of different relationships and given that she has just changed from a human to a vampire (not willingly) all of those relationships are evolving. Old ones must change to fit the new Merit. New relationships must be established. Heck she even has to come to terms with her relationship with herself. But there isn't a big mystery of what in the world is going on here as there is in Fever.

Kate Daniels- This is written by Iliona and Andrew Gordon under the name of Iliona Andrews. They are seriously talented authors. The more I learn about writing the more they become the models for using literary skills effortlessly. The first half of the first book was rough for me as a very different world was created. Once Kate met Curran, HELLO! I inhaled the rest of the series and went on to stalk stores for an early copy of the one that was just released. This series has an underlying feeling of a detective series in each book while at the same time we all know Kate has a final destiny/purpose for herself. Again, relationships play a key role in this series. She purposely avoids any kind of relationship. (won't even own a pet) yet like it or not she develops quite a few throughout the series.

Some others:

I think the one other series like the above, where you are really routing for a relationship HEA is Vampire Academy. The further into the series you go, the better it is. That may be because to me it starts out YA and as the character ages it isn't YA at all.

Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs is popular. It also has that relationship tension that Fever has between Mac/JBZ/Vlane except it is Mercy/Adam/Sam and the series has evolved to where a choice is made by Mercy.

Kitty Norville by Carrie Vaughn- I like but I don't love. I would have enjoyed reading a little less adventure and more character and relationship development. still a good read.

Karen Chance writes Cassandra Palmer and a spin off Dorina Basarab. I'd read Kate Daniels first and if you like it try Cassie Palmer. I enjoy this series. I just think Kate does it better.

Jeanine Frost writes Night Huntress and Night huntress World. Cat and Bones. HOT!

I could go on and on with 1st person POV series. But as I type we are getting further and further away from Fever. There are lots of good 1st person stories to enjoy. I am starting Kara Gillian now, but in a way Fever does stand alone.

Yesenia Hernandez (yeseniagoodreads) | 40 comments I would suggest Vampire Academy as well. Is House of Night first person? I can't remember anymore but I did really like those books when I read them. Charlaine Harris books are also great and I live for JR Ward's books which are Urban Fantasy and pretty intense but still have some funny moments.

Crissa (cgoody) | 9 comments I'm totally with you on this one! I loved the Fever Series and I am patiently waiting for Dec 7th...ugh! I've read several different series in UF and PNR and I seem to like a series told in 1st POV and when the main character is continually the main character in every book of the series. My favorites so far are the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison, Night Huntress series by Jeanine Frost (SOO GOOD!), Women of the otherworld series by Kelly Armstrong was okay and Charlaine Harris is okay too. Of course the Fever series is pretty awesome!

I keep hearing about Karen Chance and her two series she has out. I've also heard about Chicagoland Vampire series, Richelle Mead's Succubus series, and the Kitty Norville series but I haven't read them yet. I've wondered if they are anything like any of these other books mentioned?

I am currently reading Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur...let's just say it's different. And if you ever want to change it up...this series would be the place to start.

Hope this helps! And let me know if you read Karen Chance, Chicagoland, Kitty Norville, or Succubus Series...I'm always looking for a new good series to read!!
