The first Moore I read was Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal, and I'd recommend that -- or A Dirty Job, which is one of my favorite books of Moore's.

The only Christopher Moore book I've read is The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror, Version 2.0. It was decent. Definitely not your typical holiday story.
I loved Lamb... you should definitely read that one! I've also heard good things about Fluke, but I haven't read it yet.
A Dirty Job is great, as is Practical Demonkeeping :)
I haven't actually read any Moore books, but my friend is reading A Dirty Job and says it's hysterical. So I'd recommend that :)
