KimKirt | 1638 comments Hi all!

Can you recommend some books where the hero saves the heroine at one point in the story? Kind of like the elevator rescue in Blue-Eyed Devil (for those of you who've read it). I just have always liked romances that have a small rescue in it by the hero. Not a whole FBI task force going in.

No weak heroines please, can't stand those. I prefer contemporaries, but will read historicals as well.

Awesome.

He saves her toward the end, but the heroine's no weakling. Really, you'll love this.

However, this is nth book of the Psy/Changeling Series. You might want to start from the first book, but I started the series in this book and I can say it didn't hinder my enjoyment. In fact, I loved the book so much I'm reading the entire series, and starting it from book #1.

KimKirt | 1638 comments Thanks! I haven't heard of that author. I've added to my TBR.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Nalini Singh is a fantastic author - I highly recommend giving her books a go! (I've only read the Psy/Changeling series so far though...) Hope you enjoy them :)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) Nalini Singh's newer Guild Hunter series also has the hero rescuing the heroine. I particularly liked how the hero rescued the heroine in the first book.

Have you read Christine Feehan's Dark Prince? In her Dark series, there is a lot of hero saves heroine plots. Not all of her heroines are door-mats. I believe the Drake Sisters series are the same. Come to think of it, you'll probably see that in her Ghostwalkers series as well. Nalini Singh and Christine Feehan write paranormal romances, though.

For contemporary, you can try Kay Stockham's Another Man's Baby, which wasn't so bad. Sarah Morgan's Bought Destitute, Yet Defiant has hero-rescues-heroine, but I wasn't too impressed with the book overall. There's also Hot & Bothered by Susan Andersen, which I had liked.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 366 comments If you like romantic suspense, you might try some of Nora Roberts stand alones. A couple of my favorites are Hidden Riches, Carnal Innocence, and Private Scandals. These are contemporaries (well, contemporary to the time they were written), not PNR.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments I believe this happens in every one of Vicki Lewis Thompson's Nerd series (Nerd in Shining Armor, Nerd Gone Wild, etc.).

Janet Chapman's Puffin Harbor series has rescue scenes as well.

Ain't Too Proud to Beg he saves her.

If you are looking for a less dramatic rescue, Fancy Pants and a few other SEP books have where the man 'rescues' the heroine from her situation (stranded by the side of the road without money).

Dramatic rescues in Nora Robert's Morrigan Cross trilogy.

These are the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many more though.
