I love Saramago's novels and I am saddened by his death. I just bought Death With Interruptions from the second hand bookstore and I am looking forward to reading it.

I am reading now his The Year of the Death of Ricardo Reis.

Blindness, although not a list book, was recently mentioned in one of our other threads. I personally LOVED it, haunting vibrant forceful, as Amanda said, are great descriptors. I think it should be a List title, but there are so many of his to consider, and I've only just scratched the surface. The only other I've read so far is The Gospel According To Jesus Christ.

Blindness is a great book. That was the first book i read after joining good reads :)

Just finished my first Saramago book, The Cave, for an off-line book club. Made for a very thought-provoking read. I'm looking forward to the books that are actuary on the list.
