Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I love Scott Sigler's books. Heads up on his out-of-print book Ancestor being reprinted in June. Release date is June 22.

Angela (innae) and Ancestor has been re-written as well...I never read (or listened to the pod cast) of the original, but from the people I have heard who have, the re-write is much better -- I am enjoying it :-)

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 134 comments I am definitely a fan of Sigler. Infected, Contagious and Nocturnal are all very good.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I read the original Ancestor, and while it's a good story, I didn't think it measured up to his other work. Maybe I'd like the rewrite better.

Wonder when he's coming out with Pandemic?

D4ngerousBeans | 122 comments I`ve read Infected and Contagious , both of which I loved glad to hear Ancestor is coming out , its also out on the Kindle $11.74 .
Can`t seem to find any info on Nocturnal though?

Amy (bibliocrates) | 426 comments Ancestor is out now actually, T. I was at Barnes & Noble last night looking for a particular book, they didn't have it. Anyway, I saw it there, almost bought it too, but I have yet to read Infected and Contagious so I'll wait a bit.

You can find out about Nocturnal here under the "audiobooks" tab.

It's also free on iTunes.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I listened to Nocturnal. Still think about the Groom's Walk. *shudder*

I'd buy Ancestor for my Kindle but my husband might want to order the book. I'm surprised he hasn't already.

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 134 comments Tressa,

Are book prices for the Kindle pretty comparable to say, the paperback price, or can you find them a lot cheaper?

message 11: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I compared some Stephen King and James Lee Burke Kindle and paperback prices, and it looks like for the popular authors the Kindle price is a buck or two cheaper.

But I recently bought two Kilborn books for $2.99 each. They're not out in paperback yet, but I'm assuming that like most paperbacks they would also be around $7/8.99 each. But maybe others who have had a Kindle longer than I can give you a better answer.

I mainly got my Kindle to buy free books or books not published yet for low prices, like the Kilborn books.

The Kindle prices are a whole lot cheaper than hardback, but you probably know that already.

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 134 comments Has anyone read Sigler's "The Rookie"? I've enjoyed all that I've read by him and I think I've read most of what he has written, but I don't really enjoy "sports" books. I know there's more to it, but that kind of turns me off. Any input?

message 13: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I don't like sports books either, and a few years ago I tried to listen to his podcast for The Rookie and couldn't get into it because of the sports. But my husband loved it, and he's never enjoyed a sports fiction novel. The story is made more interesting by the fact that the players on the alien teams can do funky things like jump high into the air, etc. Or that's what I remember.

message 14: by Angela (new)

Angela (innae) I am not much of a sports book person, but there is more to the story than just the sports. I really liked The Rookie, and although I have The Starter, I haven't started reading it yet....
