aldenoneil | 1000 comments I have a strong feeling Monsanto will become a household name in the near future.

Rick Pasley (hikr3) | 71 comments Monsanto should have already been a household name if you care about where your food comes from. They have been controlling a big piece of our food supply for quite a while.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments Also, watching Food Inc. is incredibly illuminating on the control farmers don't have over the planting of their own crops.

Andre (andreb) | 34 comments There are many aspects of this book that are rooted in current economic issues. Trade Tariffs, Peak Oil, Corruption, Food Politics, Environmental Policies. What makes this book so poignant is that all of these concepts have their seeds in current events.

Welwyn Wilton Katz | 46 comments I don't know if any of you like elegant mysteries, but this is so on queue that I have to mention a book I just finished reading last night. Death in a Strange Country by Donna Leon. Absolutely despairing.
