Nyghtmare | 2 comments I want to become Wiccan, and I know i am on the right path, but my aunt is Catholic, it is the religion I grew up as. I just need the confidence to get farther up the road.

Julie | 29 comments Okay, what kind of help do you need?

The first thing you need to do is to make sure you're no longer haunted by the ghosts of Catholicism. Many people become Wiccan for a while, but their former religion haunts them and eventually pulls them back. Belief is not really a matter of choice. You can't be Pagan unless you honestly believe it is right and good. Otherwise people will get hurt.

You can go to Witchvox and find a list of groups in your area. It's far from complete, but it's a good start. Caution: if you're under 18, no one can take you in as a student.

Find a local festival where you can meet people. If there's no Pagan Pride festival, look for a Renaissance Faire or something similar where lots of Pagans and Wiccans go.

Find your local Pagan bookstore. It may be hiding in a psychic shop or somewhere. Check the bulletin board for local groups having events. Many groups have public events where you can join the ritual without a specific commitment.
