Okay so this was a game I learned in a creative writing class in high school.

One person writes their wish, and then the next person writes, "your wish is granted, but (insert negative situation here)".

For example:

Person A: " I wish I had an all-inclusive trip to Cuba"

Person B: " Granted... but it rains everyday, and you have to stay in for the entire trip."


Let me start off with my first wish:


I wish that it wasn't raining today.

Your wish is granted and the sun comes out but it gets so hot it fries all the grass.

I wish to win the lottery

Granted. But the jackpot was only 10$... and five other people won.

I wish I had somewhere to go tonight...

Granted, but you will be going to jail.

I wish I were tall and thin...

granted.....but it gets totalled out on the first ride

I wish I were a child again

granted....but you are born into abject povery in the slums of Calcutta

oh yeah....I wish no one in the world was hungry

granted.....but we all have to eat slugs and worms to keep ourselves full

I wish we were friends

granted....but you have to clean my house to pass the friendship test.

man, I suck at this!! ... ok, I wish oranges didn't chap your lips when you suck the juice out of them

granted....but then your lips would wither away on coming into contact with oranges

I wish I had a magic lamp

Your wish is granted, but ... when the genie appears he says that he is retired and have no need to grant any of your wishes.

I wish I could own the world's largest library.

Granted. But instead of literature, you own the world's largest library of instruction manuals for discontinued products.

I wish that working out at the gym paid off a little quicker.

granted....but the force of gravity is increased 20 times.


I wish kids were obedient

Granted but then the adults would be childish and petulant(of dear some really are!).

I wish my pets didn't shed fur everywhere in my house.

Granted... but then they would all be hairless and look really scary.

I wish I could eat all the pizza in the world and not gain one pound.

Granted you won't gain a pound but then you start to develop health problems.

I wish I had a dog

Granted... but it tastes like cardboard.

I wish my laundry and dishes would wash themselves.

my dog tastes like cardboard?

Granted, the dishes and laundry magically wash themselves but then the magic goes awry and destroys your house.

I wish I could go on a cruise vacation

Granted, but you are going on a cruise in a rowboat.

I wish my husband would make dinner tonight.

Granted, but he is making snail jello


I wish there were no weeds

Granted... but your entire lawn, along with whatever greenery or shrubbery you have... all dies with the weeds.

I wish that my boyfriend were HERE instead of two thousand kilometres away!!!

Granted, but he plays video games all day and completely ignores you.

I wish all my bills were paid off

Granted...but you didn't read the name on the envelopes and accidentally paid all of your neighbour's bills.

I wish I could have a longer summer vacation.

Granted, but the annoying relatives decided to stay longer since you were home, and the A/C broke.

I wish I were 21 again.

Granted ... but you are nervous and awkward and bad in studies and can't wait to grow up again.

I wish I could read all day and never do anything else.

Granted... but your forced to read only one book for the rest of your life.

I wish I had my career sorted out.

I wish my neighbor wasn't obnoxious.

Granted, but they are cleptos instead

I wish I had a dog

Granted . . . but your dog is a pit-bull who attacked the neighbor's chihuahua.

I wish I had a simple life.

awww that's not fair, pit bulls get such bad reps.

You do have the simple life because it caused you to have a simple mind.

I wish for a free dinner out every week

I love dogs, but I have learned from my brother's experience that pit bulls can turn on you. He babied this dog and loved it, and it turned on him. If his wife hadn't been there to push it into the extra room, who knows what would have happened. My brother's feet were chewed up when he tried to push it away.

Granted . . . but it's the one thing you don't like to eat.

I wish for a beautiful body.

I met some really nice pit bulls and it is all in how you treat them.

granted...but it is literally (not figuratively) green
I wish I could transport in place and time

Granted...but you end up in a box that won't open in the middle of a desert

I wish I could see into the future.

Granted... but you get stuck in the cavemen era, and eventually have to settle down with a Neanderthal named "Ogggg".


I wish that I had a pool.

Granted, but he never bathes and has jungle rot all over his body!...

Granted...but it will lick yours instead

I wish my son would go to bed early

Granted...but then he gets up at 3a.m. and is full of energy and wants to eat breakfast right away.

I wish I could read peoples minds.

Granted, but then you read the mind of a serial killer who wants to kill you.

I wish I had someone to drive me around

Granted, but they can only drive in circles.

I wish I had free babysitting.

Granted...but your babysitter feeds the children junk food, and let's them watch the Adult Movie Channel behind your back.

I wish I had a bigger ass.
