message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

sorry, kind of off subject, but did you know that you can change anything on wiki? maybe you shouldn't believe everything.

when they had the battle, i was sad. my mom read it allowed to me and my sisters (she had to dothat to edit out some of the swear words for my 7 yr old sister) we were all crying.

message 23: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) Oh, on Wikipedia, aren't they wrong? To create the Horcrux within Harry, his parents died - it's not "N/A". D:

message 24: by Kate, awesome ballerina moderator (new)

Kate | 120 comments Mod
but voldy didn't use the killing of harry's parents to make harry a horcrux- harry accidentally became one

message 25: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) Well, yes, he didn't intend to...but you had to kill someone in order to do it, and it was his parents.

message 26: by Pandy (new)

Pandy I don't think it was only because Voldemort killed Harry's parents. Voldemort's soul was already very unstable, on account of ripping it so many times. A piece of his soul was blasted off because he attempted the evil act of the murder of a child. I thought Dumbledore said something like this in the chapter King's Cross.

message 27: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) It probably wasn't only killing his parents, I know...but it might have been part of it, is all I'm saying. ;)

Kate | 120 comments Mod
i think it was totally accidental magic, no one was needed for killing to make harry a horcrux

message 29: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) Hm, maybe...something to be determined. We know not the true answer.

message 30: by Pandy (new)

Pandy I think that the attempted killing of Harry was necessary. Maybe the deaths of his parents didn't matter too much, but all the other horcruxes Voldemort made were part of it because he split his soul so many times that it split again without him intending it to.

message 31: by Kate, awesome ballerina moderator (new)

Kate | 120 comments Mod
yes, i think it was because he tried to kill harry, not his parents

message 32: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) Yeah, I get it now...Lily and James, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....... :( Makes me sad.

message 33: by Kate, awesome ballerina moderator (new)

Kate | 120 comments Mod
poor harry, having to grow up without his parents! :(

message 34: by Kira (new)

Kira | 63 comments that was so weird when voldy tried to kill harry and it killed harrys horcux part... that was strange

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah. that was weird, but i kinda expected it.

message 36: by Pandy (new)

Pandy I'm glad Harry didn't really have to die.

message 37: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 19, 2008 02:02PM) (new)

yeah, when i read it w/ my sisters, we were all sobbing! i don't think that we needed another thing to cry about in that book!

message 38: by Pandy (new)

Pandy Definitely!

I was sad that Harry couldn't tell Ginny before he went to be killed. Like, he saw her when he was under the cloak!

message 40: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (kyraconteur) Yeah...poor Ginny, knowing there was a distinct possibility that he'd have to die or sacrifice himself. :[

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

÷[ that was too bad.

message 42: by Pandy (last edited Feb 08, 2009 10:19AM) (new)

Pandy Well, I'm not sure where you got that because that's not what it says in my book. After, escaping from Malfoy Manor, when Harry is digging Dobby's grave, he sees (in his mind) Voldemort punishing those left at Malfoy Manor. Voldemort was punishing them, not slaying them. He also bans them from leaving the house. When Harry sees Malfoy in his mind later during the battle of Hogwarts, he sees that Malfoy still bears the marks of his punishment. The only time it says that Voldemort slays people is after he finds out that Harry, Ron, and Hermione broke into Gringotts to steal Hufflepuff's cup. Malfoy and Bellatrix rush to the door then, before Voldemort can kill them. The goblin is slain with the other people in the room.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

woah. i never thought that would happen!
