Tarja | 6 comments I'm a new user with librarian status and was wondering how to correct the following:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/47... has the correct author, book cover, and ISBN, but the title and description are incorrect. There is, however, an edition with the correct title and author, but without publishing information (ISBN, publisher, etc) in the database here http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/68...

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments I would start with a refresh from amazon as that is where the one with ISBN is imported from - It also now appears to have the correct title on for the ISBN on amazon.

You will then need to combine and delete the one with no info

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments You can merge the two and delete the one with the correct title so that the reviews will merge to the one with the correct ISBN. Then correct the title and description of the remaining one. If you cannot delete let me know and I'll be happy to do it for you.

I merged the two titles, but can't delete the one with the correct title (His Mouth Will Taste of Wormwood). Thank you for your help.

Melody (runningtune) | 13300 comments I've deleted it. All you should have to do is correct the description.

Rui (RuI2009) | 18 comments Thought I'd borrow the title of this thread for my purposed.
Robert Alexander of "Geometry and Discrete Mathematics 12" (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/88...) is NOT the Goodreads author. How do I indicate/unlink the name to the listed GRauthor?

Please and thanks.

Add spaces. Like this.

In this case, the two-space author was also definitely not the one wanted, so I made it three spaces.

Rui (RuI2009) | 18 comments My, thanks for the quick answer!
And so sorry, I missed that part in the manual when I was looking for it (how??!!). I'll be sure to try to be more thorough when I look at the manual before asking next time. Thanks!

Better to ask than not to. The manual is pretty good, but it takes getting used to. :)

Stephen (havan) | 330 comments Unrelated to the original question but...

I'm a basic level goodreads librarian. I helped sort out some of the worst abuses of the keyword tags with quizzes a few months back and I'd like to do something similar with writings.

as one can see on http://www.goodreads.com/story stories by tag or genre there are 251 works listed with the tag "the"

There are also 76 writings tagged harry while another 68 are tagged harry-potter and 71 tagged potter. I think some consolidation is in order.

I'd like to take a whack at cleaning up some of those. I can change tags on things I've written myself but would like that ability for tags in general can that be done?

That's a question for the Feedback group. Personally, I think the writing section is personal enough that the ability to edit it -- including tags -- should NOT be granted. But that's just my personal opinion.
