Ciara | 14 comments Hi Ashley. I'm more or less a lurker but I'm out and about today so thought I'd offer a welcome. Best of luck with your writing endeavors. I write sci-fi and fantasy romance but I love creating new worlds. Just got back from a trip to Scandinavia and it inspired all sorts of ideas.

Ciara | 14 comments Hi C. I actually write romance. I write in several different genres, but right now my focus is fantasy and sci fi. I have a new Victorian fantasy coming out in December that I'm really excited about and another sci-fi futuristic romance coming out in April. Have you been sending out queries for your work?

C.C. Cole (authorcccole) | 30 comments Hi, Ciara. Well, I sent queries out long enough for me, so I'm an Indie "self" publisher. That may be blasphemous here, but after so many 'no's' and if accepted, my work could stay on a desk for a year or two, I just hired an editor and began publishing my series. The first is "Act of Redemption"..in a nutshell, bad azz female action character, Book 2's well on its way, 4 in all! It's fun, but hard to get word out. I think romance is great...I mean really...can anyone say they don't like ANY romance? Best of luck to you!! I'm new here, where can I find your books?

Ciara | 14 comments Hi C. Promo is hard work and it's hard to know if you're spinning your wheels or actually reaching readers. Best place to find info on my books is either at my publisher's: www.champagnebooks.com or on my website; www.ciaragold.com. I actually put all my first chapters on the website so readers can see if it's something they think they'll enjoy. Where do folks find your books?

C.C. Cole (authorcccole) | 30 comments Hi, Ciara. The best place for the most information is my website www.gastarseries.com. You can order directly from authorhouse from there (book/ebook now, kindle/ipad soon). My reviews are posted along with my anti-domestic violence campaign I started since my sister's death set me upon this creative writing journey.

Thanks for the interest, will check out your books!!

Wendy Palmer | 7 comments Hi Ashley, Ciara, C.. I'm a lurker too, but I like meeting other female Australian writers (how terribly sexist of me...). I write fantasy, with a little bit of romance thrown in (I do like romance, but generally prefer it when there are other things going on in the plot which the romance weaves in about). I list my books on my site (wendypalmer.com.au), and my third book is also available directly at a discount from Austalian site www.winterbournepublishing.com.au -- which is looking for submissions from Australians writing character-driven SF/F, by the way (disclaimer: am the chief editor for this company).

Ciara, I know what you mean about Scandinavia, I had a trip to Iceland where the lives and landscape led directly to a short story (free to read: http://futurefire.net/2010.19/fiction...). Some of the landscapes in Iceland are out of this world.

Wendy Palmer | 7 comments Whoops, silly me! thought I was in an Australian authors thread. Well, I like meeting other female fantasy writers, even when they're not Aussie ;)

Ciara | 14 comments No worries, I enjoyed your post. Of course, as much as I loved the beautiful Scandinavian landscape, I came away with way too many story ideas, which is now distracting me from finishing a current wip. Ugh. Back to it, but nice to meet you.
