Anyone else keen?

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

WOW I've actually forgot about this :)

message 204: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I'd like to do it again :)
It's also great that everyone gets to participate in creating the challenge and come up with interesting tasks.

Lauren Smith Finished Beauty by Sheri S. Tepper, and did a little reshuffling to fit it in. New total: 25.5/30

Lauren Smith Finally completed no. 13. Points: 27/30

message 213: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith This challenge is nearing its end (20 July). Are we going to do it again? It's a lot like the Diabolical Challenge in structure, but it can be a lot easier because you make up tasks that are as easy or difficult as you want.

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I'm up for it, if more people say yes, we can start nominating in June (also still trying to finish the previous one :) )

message 215: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I don't know if I'll be making much headway in the Diabolical Challenge after another 3 or 4 tasks. I'd like to participate in the next patchwork challenge. :)

message 216: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
My plan is the finish the Diabolical challenge, and do this one on the side :)

I am also going for TDRC. As a matter of fact I have something in the order of 50 books already lined up for that challenge. They are stacked and ready for me to read. But I always like to do more challenges. It makes me feel less guilty if I read a book that doesn't fit in to the main challenge I am participating in but that I can use in another challenge.

message 218: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
So its set, 1 June we will start with nominating again, same process as last time. I think 2 per person per week, or 1?

message 219: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
Sorry I missed the other nomination round. What do you mean 2 per person per week? If it is about how many you can nominate I would go for at least 2. Seeing as how difficult it was with nominating for TDRC. And that way you can get nominations from people who have thought about tasks and not struggle at the end to get the total nominations. Having said that I have already thought of three tasks. I should write them down before I forget them. How many tasks are we thinking about anyway?

message 220: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
25 tasks
and each person gets to nominate 2 per week

message 221: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith We can go up to 30 I think, if there are enough nominations. The current one has 30 tasks and 31 books, and it was pretty do-able. The main reason I'm still busy is that I focussed on other things, but I certainly read enough books to finish.

message 222: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
we can do 30 np

message 223: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I'll probably put up the new nominations tomorrow or Wednesday night, so be ready :)

message 224: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I hope I have an internet connection!

message 225: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) Wow you mean the years almost up? I joined when the nominations for this started... feels like just a few weeks ago.

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
If someone can answer super quickly that would be cool

SHould I call it Mishmash challenge or Patchwork challenge 2?

message 227: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 4434 comments Mod
I like mishmash challenge. I have always like the word mishmash.

message 228: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Mishmash it is :)

message 229: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Hmm, I prefer Patchwork...

message 230: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) Are we voting? I say Patchwork

message 231: by Lu (last edited Jun 01, 2011 10:13AM) (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
hahaha not after i've done it :(
can still change it tho

2 - patchwork
2 - mishmash

message 232: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) Err nevermind, just saw the new posts

message 233: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith yeah, it doesn't make any difference to the challenge itself, so it's fine :)

message 234: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
If you guys are sure? I don't mind doing a quick vote

message 235: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) Yup, its still the same challenge so its fine :)

message 236: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Yes, I'm sure :) It's an unnecessary schlep to take a vote.

message 237: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) This challenge ends on 20 July right?

message 238: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments Ooh, so we jumped the gun a bit with the new one.

message 239: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Naz wrote: "This challenge ends on 20 July right?"

Yes. I just need to read 3 books to finish, but A Song of Ice and Fire is distracting me...

message 240: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) I need to read 3 books also; 13. Double Title, 17. Read a non-fiction book and 19. Read an autobiography. Those last two I knew from the start were going to be my downfall. I hardly read non-fiction and almost never autobiographies.

27.5/30

message 241: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Non-fiction I occasionally read, but I've never read a biography. Luckily I found one that I am actually very interested in, but it's rather long.

Double title caused me a lot of grief for a while, but I eventually got lucky with it.

message 242: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I'm just giving up lol

message 243: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith How many books left Lu? Maybe you can still do it - you have over a month.

message 244: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I'm sure everyone knows this is over.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

I will retire all these topics now :)

message 245: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith What? In the first post it says it finishes on July 20.

message 246: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
OMG nvm it was late and I was tired *cough*

message 247: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Lol, that's ok, I'm just determined to finish this damn thing and was very worried for a moment!
