Eleanor (ellierose) | 1 comments I'm reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margret Atwood. It's for my MA course and I had never heard of it before tbh. I really can't decide whether I like it or not; I think I find it interesting but not exactly enjoyable to read if anyone understands what I mean.

Anyone else read it?

message 103: by Donna (new)

Kristian, I've read all of the Agatha Christie books some years ago, and they remain favorites with me. I just love them!

message 107: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 139 comments Finished Adam & Eve and loved it! I, also, finished the latest Agatha Raisin mystery by M.C. Beaton, Busy Body and enjoyed the continuing story of this series. I'm now reading The Hollow, first in a teen series, but it isn't grabbing me much yet.

message 108: by Donna (new)

Donna Hi Kristin, Well I think everyone should read at least on Agatha Christie even if you are not a big fan of mysteries. My personal favorite is
Murder on the Orient Express

message 109: by Leah (new)

Leah I am reading The Gargoyle. The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson The author is very good at getting me into the characters and the plot. Almost too much because I started feeling depressed reading the book. Then around the 4th chapter, there is a twist. Not going into too much detail. It becomes kind of weird story and I can't figure out for the life of me where this story is going to lead. I'm so addicted. I can't stop thinking about this book. I want to read more so I can find out where the book is taking me. I would recommend this book so far. Not finished yet so the book could make a terrible twist and I may not like it. haha... I shall see

message 111: by galya (new)

galya I started reading The Notebook because it is one of my top 3 favorite movies, and I have to say, I didn't expect the book to be so completely different from the movie interpretation. I'm not sure yet which I like more.

That is one of the reasons why I don't always watch the movie or read the book. If I saw the movie and I leave feeling like this could have been a lot better, then I read the book. If I read the book and like and think there is no way someone could do a movie this good, I don't see the movie. hahaha

I hate reading a book after I saw the movie, but when I first saw The Notebook, I wasn't into reading and have NOT heard that it was a novel. If I didn't love the movie so much, I don't know if I'd be reading the book. :)

Yeah, it wasn't my favorite, but it was my husbands. I liked it but it was too much history driven. I like historical fiction but it's not my favorite. It is good though. Hang in there :) I just finished Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. It's a chic lit but I loved it! It was funny. I kept laughing out loud and I also had moments when I was yelling at the main character. hahah.. Nice wave of emotions. :)

Aw, your too kind! I live in the US. It's an older series. Her newest one is out but I still need to read her other three. I could pick it up I'm sure at the half price bookstore, but I usually wait until after I read a book to buy it. Like the book Gargoyle, I read from the library but I am going to buy it because it was so good. Something I will read again. The Something Borrowed books are good, but I wont read them again. They are funny and cute and a fast read. :)

Can you not look in the other libraries around or do they do Interstate swapping?

I just figured out swapping on goodreads. I'm about to order the books from someone on goodreads :)

This state is impossible. There is only one library for the city I live in. I live closer to the one in gilbert, but I can't use their library. I have to go all the way to my library which is far. I don't know if they do Interstate swapping. I never heard of that.

message 134: by Aline (new)
