Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm posting on my iPhone, so I can't provide all the links and stuff. But, I'm rewatching this movie for the millionth time. Was wondering if anyone else has seen it?

I could probably recite it to you I've watched it so many times.

Do you like watching movies set in the future or a world unlike ours? Ones like this, Minority Report, iRobot, Firefly ...?

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments I LOVE this movie. I have the DVD and I think I even have a copy of the script somewhere.

Leeloo puts powder into a bowl and then the bowl into a microwave thing for a couple of seconds then pulls out a roast chicken! I want one of these things, probably more likely than a replicator.

I still think its funny when the priest knocks out Bruce Willis with the religious statue! Oh there are so many good bits in this movie. I think I'm gonna watch it again this weekend.

new_user I've watched this so many times! It's a cool movie. I really enjoy futuristic movies, especially if they're adventure/action. I liked Babylon AD, the Riddick movies, and B13. I can't think of any more off the top of my head.

new_user I just caught the ending of Fifth Element today! LOL.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL! "MMm, Cheecan, good" :D LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie. Ames, I bet if you pulled out that script we could recite the lines almost word-for-word without peeking.

Some of my favorite lines/scenes:
"This case is empty. Empty, the opposite of full. This case is supposed to be full. What am I supposed to do with an empty case? Not one or two or three, but four. FOUR STONES! Four stones, four crates, ZERO stones, ZERO crates! Pack everything up, we're outta here." - Zorg

while at the same time Leeloo is telling the Cornelus and the little dude where to find them on Floston.

And I love her fight scene in the hotel while Plavalaguna is singing. And OMG! how funny is Chris Tucker in this movie?! SO funny! Screamin' and freakin' out.

Another favorite (with him) is when they (he & BW) are under the pool table ... "one, two, three, fooooour, fiiiiiiiive...."

Oooo, and the little Chinese tata (Mr Kim) on his little flying ship restaurant!? So many fun things in that movie!

Now, I wanna watch it again. LMAO!! :D

***Hey, I got to see (his bodyguards wouldn't let anyone get near him for autographs or anything - bummer!) Bruce Willis when we were stationed in Hawaii. He and some people from Planet Hollywood came to base to play baseball against some of the Marines. He's very skinny and much shorter than I thought he'd be. Got pictures of him, if you're interested I could post them on my profile page.***

NU, I loved Riddick and those movies. I haven't seen Babylon AD or B13. I haven't even heard of B13, what's that about?

new_user The dialogue was so clever in Fifth Element. I *loved* Chris Tucker! I'm sure he had a hand in his lines.

I <3 Riddick. He's my hero, LOL. Babylon wasn't nearly as good, but it was entertaining. B13 isn't really scifi, but it takes place in the future in France, when the gov has decided to seal off one of the poorest ghettos in the country. It's kind of action a la the Transporter movies, and if you've never seen a Luc Besson movie, the lines are great.

Joanne (needsun) | 60 comments We rented the 5th Element so many times that the owners of the mom and pop rental place we went to saved the poster for us....lol. My daughter, now 20, still has it somewhere.
Now we have the movie in VHS and DVD and I am sure we will get it in blueray when we ever update to one.

Great great great movie!

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments B13 still isn't ringing any bells for me. Makes me think of that one "Doomsday" [2008:]. I'll have to look for it.

new_user It's French, Steph, so you may not have heard of it. It came out in 04. If you're an action/dialogue/social causes/cute dude fan, you must see.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Kick ass! Love it! I'll have to hunt that one down. I love the scene (in the trailer) when he tries to kick down that big dude. Too funny! Thanks for the rec, NU!

message 11: by new_user (new)

new_user LOL. That was great. Np, hope you enjoy it! I'm a fan. :)

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Whoops, missed this thread. Stupid phone sometimes deletes emails it shouldn't.

I watched it again. LOVE Chris Tucker! This movie would be nothing without him!

Lee Evans: "Where did he learn to negotiate like that?"
President looks at Bruce's commander: "I wonder." Lol!

And did you notice, the President rules over 200 billion people! What a job!

Watched Batman Begins for the first time the other day. It was entertaining I guess but I was disappointed. Michael Caine made it worth watching as Alfred though. I preferred Christian Bale in Equilibrium.

message 13: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Definitely would've been a lot less funny overall if Chris Tucker wasn't in it.

LOL! I wonder :) And yeah, 200 billion people, not me, no thank you.

I like Christian Bale as Batman, LOVE Michael Caine as Alfred and enjoyed CB in Equilibrium.

message 14: by new_user (new)

new_user He was great in Equilibrium. That kind of laced-up persona seems to resonate with him.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Yeah, it does. I love his voice. :)
