Colleen (cpharkins) | 2 comments I noticed that ISBN 13: 978-0061953774 has significantly fewer pages than what is listed for this entry, but also has 16 pages of photos in the middle of the book (which are not numbered).

Amazon.com lists it with 256 pp
B&N.com with 250 pp

I didn't want to mess up on my first Librarian Status change, so I thought it best to ask -- especially given that "photos" are not specifically addressed in the Librarian Manual.

Per the actual hardcover book, there are 247 pp including the final Acknowledgments page. Or do you also count the other side of that last page, which would be 248? If the photos are counted, then 16 pages should be added.

Thanks in advance for your response.

I would count or not count photos based on the numbering in the book. In this, case, I wouldn't count them. So that's 247.

256 is a standard page number for a certain sized book, and 250 is probably rounded. Neither came from the actual book in question. Amazon and B&N are bad sources for page numbering; WorldCat is fairly good. And having the actual book in your hand is the best.

Oh, and welcome! :)

Entry changed, and I'll use WorldCat in the future.
