Brian (brianjjaxn) | 21 comments Hi everyone. Thank you for this opportunity to promote my work.

Drained by Brian Jackson is an ebook available for download on Amazon (Kindle) and Smashwords (Other).

Susan Weber is a successful advertising executive living the high life in San Francisco. One night she clogs her kitchen drain by stuffing a whole chicken carcass down the garbage disposal. Enter Joe the plumber. He's friendly, polite, drop dead gorgeous... and happens to be a vampire. Drained is a light hearted, romantic farce in which a couple tries to coup with being half undead.

After years of developing computer software, I retired early to pursue writing. I live with my wife, author Melanie Jackson, dog, Alpine, and cat, Snowy, in the gold country of California.

I hope you enjoy this light hearted romp. Even if you don't, I'd love to hear from you via a review or posts to this thread.

Thanks

Brian (brianjjaxn) | 21 comments Hmmm... Haven't heard from anyone here yet. Everyone must be busy elsewhere. Oh well, may as well talk to myself ;-).

I wonder what's so appealing about vampires. In their original incarnation, Dracula and Nosferatu, they certainly weren't appealing characters. But in paranormal romance they have staying power. I here from some that they're tired of vampire books, that the market is saturate, and still the books keep on coming. Hey, I wrote one.

There most be an inherent sexiness that woman have found in the vampire. Getting wrapped in a man's arms and having your neck bitten is definitely an intimate moment.

I guess there are other threads here that discuss this topic, but still I wonder. What is it about vampires, basically undead parasites, that is so appealing.

What turns you on about the vamps?

Shelly (mashbay) I didn't respond because I don't do e-books. I'm behind the times, but love vampires so the book sounds good. For me the vampires are usually that alpha male character that people shun in other genres, but supernatural characters can get away with more. That is the sexiness for me-not the biting. They are usually very confident as well.

I see, so it's the confidence and assertiveness that comes from hundreds of years experience that appeals. I wonder if it also has to do with the dark mystery and deadly danger, and to a certain degree the naughtiness of getting involved with something you know you're supposed to stay away from.

Interesting.

Thanks for the reply Shelly.

Edward Barnes | 2 comments I finished reading this book a while ago and really enjoyed it. I recommend it for anyone looking for a fun book about vampires. laughed out loud at the smoking vampire scene and coffin advertisements.

Don't read this book looking for deep meaning in life. Do read it if you're feeling low and need a lift.
