Crusader (crusaderza) | 2457 comments Mod
Nope.

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

If I'm not driving yeah
Or sometimes if I have to wait for something then I'll sit in the car and read (The car is stationary then hehe)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Can't, i get car sick :(

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Ah, well what if the car stands still? Like what I do hehe, while waiting for someone?

message 58: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Then its fine :)

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe well then go out, park your car and read LOL.
Sometimes when I've gone to the library I'll get an ice cream (Mc Donalds is right next door hehe) and sit in my car and eat and read a bit

message 60: by Sonette (new)

Sonette | 384 comments I feel a bit guilty saying this but I read in the car the WHOLE time, whilst driving! Mostly in Traffic, I'll read my court papers whilst driving to court. Or if I'm reading a book which I absolutely cannot put down, I'll read whilst driving to work or where ever I'm going. Haven't made an accident yet! TOUCH WOOD!

Sonette I think you should tell everyone which route you take to work, that way they can all avoid travelling on the same road as you lol....Are you a Lawyer Sonette? I would recommed audio books from now on though.

The only time I will read in the car is if Im waiting for something, other than that no.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe I agree with you Emma, Sonette sounds dangerous on the road LOL

message 63: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Man, and I work just down the road from you Sonette! Another thing to worry about, and I already hate driving! Listen to Emma and switch to audio.

I often read in the car, if not driving (which is most of the time) but sometimes my boyfriend complains I'm being anti-social.

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

hehe there is always someone who has to complain

message 65: by Nix (last edited Sep 10, 2010 03:14AM) (new)

Sonette, I 'know' someone with whom you used to work. Her name is Pam and she's from Ireland, if you know what I mean! ;)

Hehe, Nix! How do you know Pam? It's a really small world! @Emma Yes I am (for my sins) a Lawyer! And as for the rest of you, I AM A VERY SAFE DRIVER! Although I read in the car, I have a very good record!

message 67: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

@Lu... I have never tried audio books before, have always though I would not like it! But if you really want to send me some, I would try it (*wink*)

message 70: by Nix (new)

Nix Hehe, Nix! How do you know Pam?..."

She was my CIPRO go-to gal!

message 71: by Sonette (new)

Sonette | 384 comments Haha! So I suppose you are now working with Andrew and Elsie. Or have you given up now that Pam has gone?

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

Ooooh I know what CIPRO is

Get yourself an i-pod and load the audio books on there, then you can listen to them...
I sometimes listen to audio books before I fall asleep

By the way, anyone know where I can get an i-pod for cheaper? Need to get new MP3 for myself and my bf

message 81: by Naz (new)

Naz (nazz) I always read in the car assuming I'm not driving of course. I asked because I was doing it at the time... 10 hour journeys can get boring!

message 82: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Definitely! Where were you going?

message 83: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments Well I would also love any Audio books Lu if you have them. There are loads that you can downlod from the net but you have to have really cheap internet to do that or else it can become quite expensive. What Audio books do you have Lu?

Ok so no one posted a Question for today so hmmm

Q .What was the most embarassing thing that happened to you?

message 84: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I have
* Swan Song
* Golden Compass
* And part of Color of Magic

I download them at the end of the month, so gonna get a few more and put on dvd's. then i can send it to whoever wants it :)

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

Oooh Emma, thats a hard one, I've had a few...

message 86: by Emma (new)

Emma (emmauk007) | 1081 comments So I see that people on here must have ahd some bad experiences as no-one wants to tell us any lol

Ok so Ill tell you one I had when I was at high school in the UK. It was PE lesson (Physical Education) just incase you cal it something different here in SA, and the girls were practicing the relay, I was always quite good at running so they used to put me up wither first or last. The boys were practising the long jump at the side of the track. So anyway I was the last runner and the girl passed me the baton and I set off running and was winning the race, I noticed that at the finish line all my friends were laughing and then I noticed that my gym skirt had fallen off and I was running in my knickers, I ran back for it and quickly tried to fasten it on, but by then the race was over.

Very embarassing :-)

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Hahahaha oh Emma, thanks for making me laugh on this monday morning hehe.

Mine was when I did eistedford (sorry for my horrinble spelling) and I was singing and I forgot the words... That was bad for me.

Then there were times when people come up and talk to me and they know me, and I have no idea who they are! And then they realise that I have no idea who they are!!!! :)

Others include getting really drunk... you can think for yourself how that ended

Thanks for being brave enough to include yours, I am always forgetting peoples names too, as for getting drunk, well Im not a drinker anymore but when I was around 18 I went out with friends into town on a Saturday night and the bar tender suggested I try a Green Goddess (Abysinthe) he said that one drink and that was it for the night...I didnt believe him so I tried it, and I cannot remember anything else until I woke up the next day with a bucket beside the bed. My friends told me I was the life and soul of the party dancing on the tables etc and that the owner said I should come back anytime!! Yeah right!! I avoided that bar ever since. Needless to say I dont drink anything green anymore. :-)

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe, dont worry Emma, I've had a few of those. Not a big drinker anymore... I'll have a glass of wine sometimes with dinner or a bear on a really hot day, but thats it. I prefer chocolate milkshake anyway... I love ice cream

message 90: by משה (new)

message 94: by Lu (new)

Will do :)

When I get more I will ask everyone that wants. Maybe we can do a rotational thing? One sends it off and someone else also sends to someone else and we all get everything eventually?

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok so I think this might fit here seeing as its a question, and relating to the audio books.

Where can I find an apple i-pod that wont brake my budget? Lu, Hi-Fi corporation is expensive again :(
I need to get one for my bf for christmas (I know its early) and then I'm looking for a normal MP3 player for myself, suggestions???

message 96: by Crusader (new)

Crusader (crusaderza) | 2457 comments Mod
Niecole, cheapest price I can find on the Web is at Kalahari.net - R764.15 for a 4GB iPod Shuffle.

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok cool! I went there yesterday and they didnt have anything, I'll check it out.
Thanks Crusader

What MP3 player other than i-pod would you recommend?

message 98: by Claudia (last edited Sep 15, 2010 12:26AM) (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments Niecole, you can get 10% off and free shipping at Wantitall.co.za this week(coupon code FHE749), so a 5th Gen 8GB Nano should work out R1500. Or at expansys.co.za they have the new 8GB Nanos with touch screens R1584. Which is still alot I guess. =( You could always try one of those R299 (regular) or R699 (touchscreen) Telefunkens at Game for yourself, haha.

I'm saving up to get myself a Creative Zen xi-fi 2. I've never been a fan of i-pods. Except maybe the new Nano, because it's too cute-looking.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

I dont mind the Telefunkens or the Sandisk ones for myself...
I'll have to go look at those that you've mentioned

Thanks Kahlan

I'm not much of a music listener and I don't use an Mp3 player myself, although if I had to get one it would be something in the Creative Zen line.
