Hello, Amber, and welcome to the group.

I'm a writer, but first I was a reader. I devour books. :-) Before I had kids it wasn't unusual to find me reading 1 book a day. Now I'm lucky if I read one book a week.
Glad to be here.

I'm Natacha. I'm originally from Belgium but moved to the San Francisco Bay Area as a pre-teen. I'm an avid reader and an aspiring author (currently working on a project). I've written poetry and plan on writing more short stories and eventually novels. I will mostly be writing historical fiction, a lot of it set in the Middle East. However I am remaining open to life's surprises and the possibilities of writing on a variety of subjects. Glad to have found the group. :)

Welcome, Natacha.

I enjoy writing inspirational nonfiction books. True life is more mysterious than fiction. Through the pain and the obstacles, in this journey that is known as "life" we seek resolution. The outcome of resolve, may not be perfect, however, there is always a lesson that can be learned.
Researching, true life stories can be a tedious undertaking. However, the rewards, justify the outcome. In 1995, I became interesting in writing a book about a young man, Andre Coppage, whose five younger siblings were murdered because a drug cartel thought that he had told police about a murder that he had witnessed. In 2003, after years of following the case, "Code of Silence, the Andre Coppage Story was written.
In 2005, after my mother passed away, immersed in grief I decided to fulfill a promise. I promised my mother that I would research our family history. After 7 years of researching, in 2011, I fulfilled my promise.
In 2012, "Human Property Hanging in the Family Tree Yields a Harvest," was written and published.

Hey, Aubrey...know what you mean by a "crazy life." I grew up in a really--excuse my language--"shitty" neighborhood in an even more crappy subculture before I was born and up until I was 21...so I know the crazyness (is that a word?) you describe...You'll do well as writer...and that's a promise...

Hmmm...well, don't remember saying the word "world," but, then again, you probably weren't referring to me but, still, seriously, insane "ordinary life" experiences translate very well to the literary forum...of course, I don't think of myself as a good writer but I know that "craziness" is a good source of truth because human existence is just plain crazy, if you know what I mean...
