What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this in the last 2 or 3 years so I should remember it!

This book consists of three individual stories set in Germany, before WW2, during WW2 and afterwards.

I'm pretty sure the author is a woman.

The first story is about an boy who becomes an apprentice for a photographer in the years leading up to WW2. He also a trainspotter in his spare time.

The second is set at the end of the war. A teenage girl has to cross Germany to get to her grandmother; she has a baby sister, and two young twin brothers to take care of too. Her mother and father are arrested because her father is a high ranking Nazi.

The third is set in post war Germany. A man traces his father's footsteps in Russia and has to face the reality that his father was responsible for wartime atrocities.
