yeah; and unlike myself, it looks like they update theirs regularly! and they link to some others that look pretty great. i've only checked this one so far, but it's already got me wanting to learn a ton more about chinese-african history and relations.

message 4: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 622 comments I read the first post about African parents and just had to laugh.

message 5: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments Laugh in a good way or bad way?? I'm kind of excited to check out all the music they link to.

message 6: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments i changed the name of this topic so we can post links to blogs that readers learn about general resources. i think this blog from the economist began in July but I only just found out about it today.

message 7: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments while collecting news stories for our News in Egypt thread, i found this blog with some amazing pictures of Egypt, as well as lots of interesting information about how wonderfully diverse Egypt is.

This was really a well-done blog. The pictures and discussion of hijab and other coverings was another look at the issue we've been discussing on another thread.

Nina Chachu | 191 comments For those who are interested in blogs from African countries, do check out Afrigator, which is an aggregator, http://afrigator.com/ You can search by country...

message 10: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments thanks for that Nina! i actually have used it in the past but it has been awhile...it's a fun thing to browse.

message 11: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments i am posting this in more than one place...

message 12: by Marieke (new)

Marieke | 2459 comments i don't think this is really a blog, but it looks pretty cool. a community of photojournalists posting their work about africa. i think right now two are American and two are South African. but it looks like people are allowed to join, so maybe some of you have work you want to share?? also, if you poke around on the site, they have a section for videos. there is only one so far, but it's Chris Abani giving a TEDtalk and if you have never seen Chris Abani speak, you should watch this. he is a lot of fun!

message 13: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 622 comments I didn't have time to look at everything, but the photos I looked at were really interesting and unusual. Neat site.

message 14: by Mahriana (new)

message 15: by Marieke (new)
