It looks like we were very lucky to have left Inverell when we did. Buckets Way all closed off today - well lots of roads closed off today LOL.

We forgot to turn the water heater on too, Brenda. Cool shower this morning.
The preschool is holding out so far and only minor leaks at home. The dog and I splashed around the garden this morning. Most of it is under water like a giant river. Nothing like the Hunter though where people are up to their waists in it.
You can have it back now Sally:)

What a great name for a road that floods! :)

Laureen (laureenandersonswfcomau) | 92 comments My heart goes out to those who are being severely flooded. In Queensland we have had severe floods over the last 4 years and it is not fun. I was not affected personally but I know the pain my sister went through when her home was flooded badly and her business severely.

It is still indeed a sunburnt country with flooding rains. One good thing; if you are housebound, there is plenty of time to read.

message 25169: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9840 comments Certainly is wet at the moment, in Sydney but more so in the Hunter and Central coast. Hope you're all staying safe and dry and this rain stops soon. Our garage flooded but at least we haven't had water gushing through the laundry ceiling this time.

Thank goodness Carolyn! Bad luck about the garage though...

It's lessened now here (for the minute!) and our garden and eaves are looking good now... so nothing major will happen unless things get worse! But being the positive person that I am - I will say we've had the worst here now.... please??!!

Good luck in Sydney Phrynne...

Sharon Robards (sharonrobards) | 944 comments On the radio they are saying it will die off late this afternoon, but then again, they are usually a day or so behind or ahead of themselves LOL

It's still bucketing down here. Perfect weather for a afternoon sleep, my husband is asleep on the lounge, my daughter asleep in her bed and my granddaughter asleep in the cot. I'm enjoying the peace and catching up on chat.

Perhaps their servers are misbehaving. Although, I had no problem with books I have purchased from Amazon today.

Ian Stewart (goodreadercomIanStewart) | 213 comments It's been raining for two days non-stop and still showing no signs of easing but better off here in Sydney than other parts of NSW. Frustrated at not being able to go for my daily walk but on plus side making good progress on writing my new book!

message 25192: by Neko (new)

Neko hmm..just noticed GR ap is dating my finished books one day ahead of time. I can't stop it doing it either. Anyone else who uses the ap notice this?

message 25193: by Phrynne, Series Queen! (new)

Phrynne | 15803 comments Mod
I checked and mine are a day early too. How odd. I hardly ever use the app though. It doesn't do enough.

message 25194: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 87 comments Phrynne wrote: "I checked and mine are a day early too. How odd. I hardly ever use the app though. It doesn't do enough."
I haven't noticed - but then I just press finish and don't bother to check the date - I know it does the date as US time though so if I finish today (7th) and post it finished this morning it would have the finished date as 6th - but don't bother to change it, a day here or there is not that problematic.

I use the app at night so I can catch up on posts. Although I only respond if I don't have to link as you can't link books, and if I want to reply to a post that has had 8 posts since I don't either as you can't respond to a particular response.

So I may not be physically typing - but I could very well be around just on my app :)

message 25195: by Phrynne, Series Queen! (new)

Phrynne | 15803 comments Mod
You are right Sally. Of course the dates are American ones. I never really think about dates either, just looked because Laura asked:)

message 25196: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80013 comments Mod
That's why I usually enter the book I'm reading at night - then the date is correct and I don't have to go into the "edit review" and change it to today:)

I don't use an app at all - my phone on desktop lets me reply to posts, link books and everything, the same as laptop. It's just way smaller!

message 25197: by Neko (new)

Neko yeah i figured the US thing but i didn't think that should effect the dates when you manually try and edit them yourself?

message 25198: by Neko (new)

Neko Oh and mine are a day AHEAD not backwards like today i finished two books and they say finish on the 8th. It's not a huge issue like mentioned but I found it interesting I couldn't get it to change even when manually editing it :)
