Not long now Brenda! The time will go really quickly. You've got a new grandbaby due before that as well to see and cuddle.

No Carolyn, he's due just afterwards:) We'll arrive home 12th or 13th (depending if we fly or drive - I haven't decided yet!) and he's due on 24th April. I've told her under no circumstances is she to have him before we get home! lol

And with the printing of these tickets, it's made it really close. We booked over a year ago!

Marina Finlayson | 285 comments Ooh, exciting, Brenda! Where are you going? (I've been away from Goodreads for a while and haven't kept up with the news.) I just went on my first cruise (to New Caledonia) in January. It was very relaxing.

It is exciting Marina...this is our 4th cruise. We are leaving from Brisbane and sailing up the coast - Hamilton Island, Cairns, Port Douglas then scenic cruising around/past Willis Island and back to Brisbane. 7 nights:)

It certainly is relaxing...glad you enjoyed yours too:)

Well planned Brenda, especially since you booked a year ago ! Sounds like it should be a lovely cruise. Perfect time of year for it :)

That's the one thing in the back of our minds - cyclones! We booked as late as we could because of the cyclone season!

LOL!!! Haha...as long as I don't promise chocolate and wine Sally;)

message 25965: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 87 comments Not wine - but I have little kid size chocolates - called friends. As a special treat they can choose one.

They don't always behave though so not assured of getting it.

Little miss 2 pulled the dogs tail and made him yelp. I roused on her and say her on the lounge with a book.

She gives a big sigh - put her hand on her chin and said Lily sad no chocolate today - LOL! And no it didn't work - no chocolate for the bad little girl!

Hahahaha! Kids are so cute! That's so gorgeous:) Lily sounds adorable:) Though I think our brand new bub might be a little young for your chocolates!

message 25967: by Neko (new)

Neko Sally - Hahaha..That gave me a good laugh.

Brenda - Ohh how exciting..Crossing off the calendar every day until you leave? haha

Oh...It's meant to be 29C tomorrow..eeekk...Warm and Kindies just don't mix by 2pm they are all tired..We're lucky since we only go to 2:30pm unlike the rest of the school goes to 2:50pm not much of a difference but it is with little ones.

Successful clothe shopping trip...I usually hate it unless ordering online but nearly everything I found fitted perfectly..Yay!

Sounds good Laura...relieves the stress when you don't have to search. I hate shopping too unless that happens:) Hope it's not too bad for you - in the 30s again here:( Over this weather! No, that'll make it come too quickly I think;)

message 25969: by [deleted user] (new)

Have fun on your cruise Brenda. I did a Caribbean cruise a few years back and had a blast (except for a case of sunstroke one day).

message 25970: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80012 comments Mod
Will do Melissa thanks! So sorry about the sunstroke...not nice!

I've just finished booking flights to and from Brisbane and accommodation in Brisbane for the night before our cruise:)

message 25973: by Elaine (new)

Elaine | 2001 comments Brenda fingers crossed for you that all goes to plan and that you have a wonderful time on your cruise and are back with time to spare to welcome the new bub. I'm sure it will all work out perfectly. I've never been on a cruise but having heard from both you and Kathryn how wonderful they are, I may have to reconsider. Although my travel preference is by car as I don't do too well with flying either. I am planning to drive to Adelaide next month with my Mum...maybe I should reconsider that and fly!!! Lol. :D

Just be careful not to drop it overboard Brenda! That would be disastrous - Brenda with no books to read! LOL!

We always drive (as you know) Elaine, and we would have this time except for the new arrival. So we figured we should "hurry" back, just in case! And the difference between a 12 hour drive (and overnight accom) against a one hour flight is a no brainer really. I still would prefer to drive though!

It's 17 hours for us from here to Adelaide, and we've done that a number of times:)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) 31C forecast today and already it's a lovely warm morning. The bay looks really inviting so Mo and I will go for a walk about 10am, after I finish on GR, that is:)

Ace (aceonroam) I hope you have a wonderful trip Brenda, you'll probably see lots of dolphins, some turtles and even a whale or two! It's a spectacular coastline.

All the ships have a library Melissa - but there are precious few books in there I've found! And not a lot I'd be interested in...

Just the basic model. I don't want a back lit screen and I don't use it for anything other than reading books.

Brenda | 80012 comments Mod
Hmm..I wondered about a back lit screen next time, and touch screen as well...
