What would you have done had you found yourself in Offred's place in The Handmaid's Tale?

Cami (camilovesbooks) | 11 comments And along the Offred line ... isn't her real name June? I think I found all other girls in the book except for June (from the first chapter). I'll pull out my book tomorrow and check for page numbers.

But given the academics' transcripts, I think it's telling and infuriating that they -of all people- continue to call her Offred.

Petition that we call her June, if that is indeed her real name. What do you think?

On another note -- for Margaret -- the sequence of the chapters. Were they reassembled correctly by the academics? What was the real, original, sequence? Did you switch the order around after writing?

And do you often feel like real academics act similarly to those "fictional" characters in the book's closing?
