In cases like this, once we've confirmed that the author is deceased, we will revoke the author status, which will make the profile accessible to librarians again. They can then change the biography out of the first person and add a date of death, etc. It's a sad situation, but thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Can you address how it may apply versus this situation? Thanks!

With regards to the note - huh? Do you mean a note stating that someone (i.e., the publisher, a family member) is taking responsibility for the account? I think that's kind of what Carolyn was talking about in her original question, that something in that regard is somewhat misleading.
As an aside, I have Ms. Rardin as a friend (the author I referenced above who recently passed) and it would appear that her account is being maintained just as a user, which I think is a fine thing since it allows her author account to be edited as needed but whomever is maintaining the user account can still interact with the members here. (Though, let me tell you it freaked me out at first to see updates scroll by!)

I fear I'm making no sense. I apologize.
