Combine Authors?
date
newest »

Actually, if an author has books written in two languages (usually one a native and one in translation), please do NOT combine them. Rather, keep one as the primary profile on all books (preferably the one in Latin characters, if that is practical), and list the one in non-Latin characters as a secondary author on all relevant books. That allows the author to be found both ways, but still allows the various editions of a work to be combined.
It's not a perfect system, but it's as good as it gets until the day of the AKA feature's dawning -- may that day be speedily, and in our days. ;)

And what about authors written in two ways in the same language?
For example, Tawfik Al Hakim, is a famous arabic author, since his name is arabic, the latin version maybe written in many ways : Taoufik, Tawfiq, Taoufeeq... and thus, we may have so many profiles for the same person and that affects statistics in bed way.

And can we correct the already bad spelled author names?
I mean delete them.

Just merge them with the correct one.

Some Authors are written in Latin languages and some others are written in non latin languages (such as arabic or japanese).. this can be confusing, any solution for this?
