Joseph (bluemanticore) | 138 comments I'm curious if anyone has any good single books or at most trilogies from the urban fantasy genre to suggest. What I'm looking for here are NOT series, something like Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez, Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause, or Nora Roberts's Circle Trilogy of Morrigan's Cross, Dance of the Gods, and Valley of Silence.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Have you tried any Christopher Moore? He's supposed to be more of the dark humor orientation and has a few stand alone books I think, but I haven't read any of his stuff yet. It seems to be well rated though and I've had a couple of people recommend him to me.

Are you mainly looking for reads that appeal to males or are gender neutral? That might help to narrow down some suggestions if that's more of what you're looking for.

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 16 comments I think that Salt and Silver is a stand alone. I haven't read it yet but, its on my TBR and looks like one.

It just seems that so many UF and PNR authors write series, I'm just curious what might be out there that is not from a series.

Thanks for your suggestions.

No, I hadn't! That's exactly the resource I was looking for! Thanks!

Deborah You're welcome. Please add any other books you know that fit the criteria. I try to check it occasionally to remove any that are part of a series, so please let me know if I've missed any.

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments My favorite stand alone is Sunshine.

If you like the whole king arthur thing with magic I would also suggest The Mists of Avalonthere are other but this one really begins and ends.

I really miss stand alone books, it is nice to have a beginning and an end then met my mind choose what happens next.
