Suzanne De | 13 comments Hey fellow readers,
Just wondering what the general consensus on e-readers is; does anyone have one, do you like it... do you feel the experience is different than a physical book?
I am thinking of buying one and I just wanted some ideas....
Thanks
Suzanne

Christine US (christineus) | 2 comments I love my Nook. It doesn't replace a physical book, I still read from a real book at home. I use it mainly to take on travel, or to work to read at lunchtime It's much easier to carry around. I do a price comparision when deciding which format I want to purchase something in -- I see what it would cost as a real book, then what it costs on the Nook. 99% of the time, I go with the cheaper option. Somtimes I just want a book physically in hand -- to completed a set, for example.

Leslie T. (lat0403) | 12 comments I have an iPod Touch that I use to read. Sometimes I miss having the actual book, but it's much more convenient to have my whole library with me all the time.

Mona Garg (k1721m) | 1 comments The main draw for me in possibly investing in a digital reader is having a lot of choices in reading material w/o the weight. My mood dictates what I choose to read at any given time. Hubby always gets annoyed with me for packing more than I can possibly read when we travel.

But I will always prefer the feel of a real book/magazine/newspaper in my hand.

I bought a Kindle in July and it's been great. I'm big on gadgets, but I always swore I would never abandon books. But it's great to have the Kindle for my commute, especially since reading on paper on the bus makes me dizzy, but the Kindle doesn't.

I usually am reading one book on the Kindle and one "dead tree book" at any one time. There are still tons of books that aren't available for Kindle. But between my library card and Kindle (tons of free classics in the public domain), I spend a lot less on books than I used to.

Jessica I've had a Sony Reader for over two years and it's one of the best things I ever bought. I also read lots of paper books, library books, and on my iPhone. The Sony is by far my favorite. I love getting all of the public domain books for free (and easily) and it's the best thing to have when traveling. I used to fill my suitcase with books, now they all fit in my purse :)

Flora Smith (bookwormflo) I got a Sony eready for my birthday recently and I must say its the best gift I have ever rec'd. I still read regular books, but I think I actually prefer the ebooks not only because of the size but also because I can change the size of the text. I have alot of trouble with my eyes and it really helps to be able to enlarge the text as needed. I also love it when traveling because it doesn't take up very much space. I've also found alot of books for free. I wouldn't trade if for anything.

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) I have a nook and I love it. It is terrific....it will never replace my books, but it is very nice to cart around my books with me in one convenient package.

Gini | 138 comments I have three different book programs on my iPhone: eReader, iBooks, and Amazon Kindle. I've read a number of books on it, and like the convenience of always having a book with me, but I wouldn't have a dedicated eBook like the Nook or Kindle that was another thing I had to carry - I have too much trouble keeping track of what I already need to carry around with me! And I still prefer the sensation of reading on paper.

The nice thing about the eReaders is being able to get so many of the classics for free from the Guttenberg Project. That's what I read most on my phone. If you have a smart phone, it's handy for that.

Anthony DeCastro | 168 comments I like my nook. I like real books. What a conundrum...:)

Well, they certainly aren't mutually exclusive! For those of us whose idea of a luxurious hour is soaking in the tub and reading, real books will ALWAYS be a must!

Manda (ziadax) | 1 comments I like my nook. It's helped cut down on the clutter on my bookshelves. That said, there are just some book genres I need the physical book in my hand to read, especially if there are maps or pics to refer to. Those generally don't show up well on the eReaders, nor do they zoom in well. But free and cheap books are often a good thing, so I'm happy with my purchase. :)
