I just finished A Countess Below Stairs, which was wonderful! My second 5 star read of the year!

Now I'll start: Any Way You Want It.

I just finished Eat, Pray, Love, am starting on Once a Witch, and plan on also reading Maybe This Time this weekend.

I'm currently reading Edwin of the Iron Shoes by Marcia Muller. It's the 1st book in the Sharon McCone series and I'm really enjoying it.

I am almost always listening to an audio book, and I'm currently almost through with Divine Misdemeanors by Laurell K. Hamilton and about half way into Body Double by Tess Gerritsen. I was supposed to read that one last month for the group read, but just didn't get to it. You think I could handle a one book challenge.. shez!

How are you liking the Divine Misdemeanors narrator Vanessa?

Hey Caroline,

Actually she's pretty good. The voice of Merry is excellent. The men are always hard, but she does a pretty good job there too, especially since there seem to be so many of them. She does the sex scenes in the appropriate raspy voice, and the creatures, being easier to differentiate, are as good as I think anyone could do.

I would definitely recommend the audio if you don't mind the book going at a slower pace. I sometimes listen and read the book at the same time, going back and forth depending on my mood or to change the flow of the book. She's a good reader, though, better than a lot of others.

Oh please do, Megan! Just note that it is PG-13...but the story and the characters are amazing! Even the minor characters had some quotes that brought tears to my eyes.

I think it's because the book isn't all romance and sex. Ward deals honestly with a subject most would not acknowledge unless they were forced. I think she did a good job with it which is why it's my favorite

Just started Duchess By Night - I've read a couple of hers now, and I sure like the way she writes.

Actually, I've run across a few people who didn't like the book that well, but usually not for the same reasons I didn't. The much-lauded Sebastian just didn't do much for me. D.G., was it St. Vinnie you didn't like or something else?

I know! I was going to preorder it but Amazon doesn't have it listed and even her website doesn't have a link! I'm afraid I'll forget :(

I finished it this morning and I enjoyed it.

However, there was just something too slick about the way Marc handled their first sexual encounter. Somehow it disturbed me. Sure, he turned out all right throughout the rest of the story, but if that evening was not sexual manipulation at its best, what isn't?

That's it exactly... I was feeling a little iffy reading it because it felt like he was taking advantage of her... I only managed to get over it when I read his reaction the morning after..

After reading that one, I read , another LH book (I seem to be on a mini-binge) I enjoyed.. 5*: I was unsure about how LH would make Sweeney and Richard work around Candra, but she did a great job:-)

I'm reading Gena Showalter's Heart of the Dragon . I'm only 150 pages in but I just haven't warmed up to it yet. We'll see.

Finished and thought it was ok. Currently reading . Feel like I'm about to go in to a reading slump. Have no idea what I want to read next. Choosing between , , or . Any recs?

He didn't do it for me, either. What happened with Westcliff seemed to out of left field for me (I guess Kleypas wanted to show what a baaaaaaaad guy he was.) Then I remember not being all that impressed with Evie either. ;)

But I'll read it again because I'm planning on a Kleypas challenge (I plan to read all her books (the ones that I can get at least) in chronological order. :) Maybe I'll think differently then!

I just finished .. It was fun seeing how tough Marine Cal became a stammering blushing teenager when confronted with Cate:-) Very sweet... 4.5 stars because I thought it started out slowly (but I didn't mind the pace) and then felt rushed in the last part..
