Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Okay so one of our members made me realize that we should definitely have a topic specifically for questions. If tou are confused about anything, or just have curious questions, you may post them here and the moderator/s will try to get back with an answer as soon as possible.

You don't have a help for the Early Deaths Task so I will ask here. Can we use any of the Harry Potter books for Early Deaths since his parents died before the first book? The last three I know we can use Sirius Dumbledore, and Diggory. Just asking for the first 4.

message 3: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Definitely! I will absolutely count those :). I didn't think I could really make a help topic for that, since you might not know until you read the book. But yeah, go ahead and use HP books :).

message 4: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Now that I think about it, I have a few that would work!

message 5: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) Sorry if this has an obvious answer, but how many points are each task worth? Does it have do with the 35.2 for TV/Entertainment, for example?

Thanks for answering! :D

message 6: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) It is urn a subtitle, which will say 5 points, 10 points, 15 points, 20 points, 25 points, or 35 points. You can also tell by thew number before the decimal in the task umber. For instance, 35.2 is a 35 point task. Make sense?

message 7: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) Yes, thank you!

Does the decimal stand for how many ever books you read for that task??

(Sorry for pestering you!)

message 8: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
Anqi the Decimal just is to separate the point value and the task number within that point value. So 35.2 is a 35 point task and it is the 2nd task within that point value. Does that make sense?

message 9: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) You're welcome!

Meghan, again your answer is correct; thanks :).

(You're not pestering me, Anqi!)

message 10: by AnQi (new)

AnQi (anqiyu) Thanks, Zakiya and Meghan! :)

message 11: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) No problem! :D

Hey question Z: So for 50.1 we only need to read one of the books...that almost seems to easy for a 50 point task...haha! But if that is it then I need to switch around some of my books.

Oh yeah also for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the Harry Potter Books and His Dark Materials Trilogy...Do only one of those count or does each one count in the series?

Also I saw the Bible on there...is that really going to be one of them?

I will wait to post any books until I get an answer on this.

message 13: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Well I figured we should just keep it at one. Or, we could say five books = 50 points? To make it harder.

I was thinking that for the series/trilogies you read anyone of them and it would count. So each one win the series would count.

I wasn't sure about that one, but I just thought of one that could replace it. I didn't really want to leave it up there, but I couldn't think of anything else to put in its spot.

Well if you ever need help thinking of ideas or need help in the group feel free to let me know. You know that I am full of ideas and am more than willing to help moderate the group.

message 15: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks so much, Meg. You will probably be put in charge sometimes, esp. on those weeks that dance practice takes up all of my time.

message 16: by Gnoe (new)

Gnoe Graasland This seems like fun! I'll have a go if that's all right, even if I'm joining in late. After trying to figure everything out I have a few questions left.

1. I've read Persepolis and Persepolis 2 in September. These are graphic novels - does that count? Of course a graphic novel is not the same as a comic book! :)

2. A heroïne, does that mean she has to be a real hero-figure or is it just a female protagonist?

3. I'm Dutch so that means that for task 15.3 = 'Read Abroad' I need to read authors that aren't, right?

I apologize for any questions that might already have been answered elsewhere; I tried to read it all but it's quite a lot to take in.

Okay, now I'm off to introduce myself and register my finish-line name.

message 17: by Nicolle (new)

Nicolle Graphic novels should count and should be a task, what do you think Zakiya?!?

message 18: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
1. I am pretty positive graphic novels count

2. A heroine is a main female protagonist.

3. Since you are Dutch you can read anything that is not by a Dutch author.

Thanks for your answers, Nicolle & ★Meghan★, everything is clear now!

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) @Gnoe: Meghan and Nicolle answered all the questions right. No need to apologize for asking :).

@Nicolle: I think that would be a good task, too! How many should they have to read? 2 or 3? And how many points? We can't have anymore 20's, though; too many of those.

message 21: by Nicolle (last edited Dec 30, 2010 08:56AM) (new)

Nicolle 3 books at 5 points each so 15 points?!

message 22: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Awesome!! I will add it to the list right now. :)

message 23: by Gnoe (new)

Gnoe Graasland Zakiya wrote: "Awesome!! I will add it to the list right now. :)"

Is that the new list for March > Aug or the current list? Didn't see it in the current so I'm guessing it'll be a task in the next 6-month period.

message 24: by Gnoe (new)

Gnoe Graasland New question :)

Books cannot overlap in *any* category, right?

message 25: by ★Meghan★ (new)

★Meghan★ (starinheaven) | 278 comments Mod
You are correct Gnoe. They can only count for one task alone in that 6 month period. No double-dipping.

Also that task was added to the March-August list.

message 26: by Gnoe (new)

Gnoe Graasland Thanks again ★Meghan★ !

message 27: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Yepp, she asnwered correctly :).
