Jennifer (jagerjenn_19) | 3 comments I have always wanted to write, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be good enough. I am going to attempt it sooner or later. I just have to build up the nerve. Then, I will work on getting up the nerve to send something in. Thank you for your vote of confidence Valentine!
And Wendy, good luck to you on writing, some day. I'm right there with you.

Lily Harlem | 1 comments Hi,

I'm Lily Harlem and an erotic romance author at several publishing houses including the fabulous Xcite.
My sexy fairytale novella 'The Mother of all Hen Nights' is available as an Xcite e-book and I also feature in 'Sex on the Beach - Cocktales' with a wacky story set at an Orlando water park called 'Hound Dogging Around'.
In the soon to be released anthology 'Ultimate Uniforms' I'm thrilled to say I have 'Solitary Confinement' included.
I have a story in Maxim's 'Sex and the City - London' called 'The Champagne Whore' and I was delighted to attend the recent reading at Sh! and meet other awesome authors.

I have finally found my way here and I just wanted to say a big HELLO to everyone.

Nathan Morissey (nathanjmorissey) Hi everyone,

I'm a reader and author of mm romances and gay erotica. I'd love to connect with other readers and authors.

When I'm not reading or writing, I'm watching films. I'd have to say that my favorite film is Titanic. In fact, I'm re-watching it again today.

Chloe Thurlow (chloethurlow) | 9 comments Hello, Nathan - I simply adore Titanic and would have clung on to Leo and gone down with him. Better to die young and beautiful than grow old and grumpy - like my mother! I hven't actually read any gay erotica but I really must and pwomise to do so. kiss kiss Chlo

message 176: by Esmeralda (new)

Esmeralda Greene (esmeraldagreene) Hello all, I'm Esmeralda Greene. I've had a story published in the Xcite collections "Indecent Proposals" and "In the Back Seat" (the latter collection named after my story), and I will have a story in the upcoming "Dark Desires".

I also self-publish a lot of my erotica; that's where the money is, but being published by folks like Xcite is fun and good for street cred.

message 177: by Chloe (new)

Chloe Thurlow (chloethurlow) | 9 comments Querida Esmeralda, I have sent for Indecent Proposals and agree, it is fun to be with Xcite. If you are interested, do take a look at Girl Trade, my latest from that very stable. besos Chlo

Chloe Thurlow (chloethurlow) | 9 comments Hello, everyone, I'm Chloe Thurlow - I read, write and adore erotica. I would like to reach a wider public, all those people who see the erotic as a form to be kept under wraps and in the shadows don't understand that sex is the primal urge of all sentient beings and in the erotic we find the dark heart of our own hidden desires. Oh to open the curtains and let the light. Well, just a bit.

message 181: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katdylan) Hi y'all I'm Dyllan. I'm not a writer but I love to read, and erotica's a favorite (of all kinds) with must of other genres. I try to read at least one book for each genre before saying that I like it or not.

I like books (and writers) that aren't afraid of been considered taboo. Those too tames and afraid to take risks, are not for me. lol
TIA for having me.

message 182: by Fierce (new)

Fierce Dolan (fiercedolan) Hi all. I'm Fierce, among other things. I have a short story, "Party Favour" in Xcite's anthology, "Partner Swap," and its partner "Belle de Nuit." I write various flavours of urban fantasy and slipstream, usually at least with erotic overtones.

Nice to meet everyone!

I sometimes remember a line about Raymond Chandler: someone asked his wife why he stopped writing in his last years. She said "He didn't stop writing - he just stopped finishing things."

" And, I certainly hope you get the chance to rewrite your novel."

I did, and it's out on Xcite: "Impudent Crimes." {happy dance}

message 185: by Adam (new)

Adam Hello,

I'm Adam and I'm an Applied Mathematician and my research interests are in the field of Theoretical Physics. I used to write creatively years ago, but now most of my writing is technical in nature or book reviews. I imagine I would be a boring author to read these days haha.

I've read books by the Nexus publisher for years and I recently saw their authors showing up at Xcite such as Aishling Morgan, Lisette Ashton, Penny Birch, and Chloe Thurlow, so that's why I wound up here. I just finished First Spankings: True Spanking Initiations a few weeks ago and loved it. I usually prefer novels, but I liked the true story/interview feel. I don't think it was super erotic for me, but I found it informative and very fun to read regardless. Very different from the usual from an Erotica publisher.

I haven't read anything else on XCite yet, but I just got some of the books from the aforementioned authors. So they're on my shelf to be read.

message 186: by Malia (new)

M. Newman Hi. I'm M. Newman and I'm glad to be in this group. I've written 2 novels (not what I would call erotic fiction but containing some sex scenes) and short stories. I am also the moderator of the group GR Magazine. Everybody is invited to join and post their writing as well as to read the work of other talented Goodreads members.

Miranda: I hope that this invitation does not violate the group's rules. If so, I apologize and please just let me know.

Symphony (symphony30) | 1 comments Hello

My name is Symphony and I am a bed room bully. My baby face and shy demeanor will get you every time. Currently I am an established music producer with a passion for writing. A little pertinent information. I'm a bachelor, 30 years old, no children and..... I live in Atlanta.

Now that we have that out the way, I write my Office Fantasy experiences coupled with my just nasty mind. Sydney, the woman that turned me into a "sexual terrorist".

message 191: by Lance (new)

Lance Greenfield (lancegreenfieldmitchell) | 8 comments Hello everyone. Apart from in my teens, when most of us are into any reading remotely associated with sex, I have never really been into reading erotica. But then, just over a year ago, somebody recommended a book to me, and I got into the genre. I have downloaded a few Xcite books, and have enjoyed them all. I find some sexier than others, but, without exception, they have all been fun!

Then I got to thinking, perhaps I can write some erotica myself. I have several fictional novels which have been work in progress for months and years, but have never tried the genre.

So I read some books which gave me good advice, which included Love Writing: How to Make Money Writing Romantic or Erotic Fiction.

Then I chatted with some authors and read their blogs and advice papers, including Chloe Thurloe's essay Erotica for Beginners, which I thoroughly recommend.

Finally, I picked up my metphorical pen, tapped my real keyboard, and wrote a couple of short erotica stories for myself. I shared them with two or three Goodreads friends, and received brilliant feedback. One of them even said about a story which I have written in the first person as a woman, that "it is very rare to discover a male writer who can capture the female point of view in such an exact fashion as you have managed to write into this short story."

Thus encouraged, I have taken the bold step of submitting both of these stories to Xcite today. I am very excited, but I am realistic. I expect rejections for my first works, but you never know.

I am not sure how it works, or how long it takes to get responses. I am hoping that, regardless of whether they are accepted ot rejected, that I will get some feedback from the editor who takes a look at them, so that I can improve to a standard that takes me into being regularly published.

I'd just love to see these two being sold on the Xcite web site!

In the meantime, I'll just keep reading and writing and watching this group.

What's your favourite colour? Do you have any tattoos? You know, stuff like that. It's much more fun for everyone to feel we know more about you than your screen nick.

Kathryn O'Halloran | 1 comments Hi, I'm Kathryn and just found this group. I have had one of my stories published by Xcite in their Sexy Paranormal Stories Vol 3 (Demon).

I have been writing for a few years now but that slowed down a fair bit over the last couple of years because I was living in Tokyo and learning Japanese. it seemed to push the writing out of my brain although I had a few interesting adventures that might feature in future work.

I've moved back to Australia now -- and given up studying Japanese (mostly because I got to the hard grammar bits). I live in the outer suburbs with my sister, housemate and beagle and am getting back into writing.
