Feodora | 28 comments I dont know if I choose the right folder but this sounds suitable.

I often found that the german editions have an english description even when it says that the datas come from amazon.de where the description is in german. Even when the book is originally in german.

Is it ok when I put the german descriptions in, for the german editions?

Feodora still really new

Ralph Gallagher | 200 comments I would assume that would be the correct thing to do. I'd be a little bit annoyed if I went to a different language edition and still found the description in English.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Yes, descriptions in the language of the book edition are a good thing! (The book data probably didn't import with a description for some reason; when that happens, books pick up the default which is usually in English.)

Werner | 109 comments William Faulkner's The Bear has the opposite problem; it was originally written in English, but the Goodreads default description for the book (for EVERY edition --not just the Spanish-language ones!) is in Spanish! Would it be appropriate to correct that by creating a default description in English?

Yes. I'd copy the Spanish one somewhere for safe-keeping; then make the default an English one; then individually switch back the Spanish edition(s) to the saved version.

Seem reasonable?

Werner | 109 comments Yes, Rivka, that sounds good! I'll try to get on that later this weekend, when I have some time to devote to it.
