Have any of you read the first and only book by an author only to wait and wait for another? This weeks Top Ten Tuesday list is your favorite authors, whose books you rush out to get the new one as soon as it is released.

One of mine would be Andrew Davidson. I loved The Gargoyle. But, it was released in 2008 and still nothing new is out and I haven't even found rumors of anything new coming. So frustrating. Any of you experience this?

Mine would be Mary Ann Shaffer, but she got sick and passed away just a little before her book was published. I absolutely adored her book The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.

When I first started reading I didn't know how I felt about it because it's told only through letters, but pretty quickly I started LOVING it.

When she got sick she asked her niece, Annie Barrows ,to help her finish the story, so it's coauthored by her.

Tahleen There's always Harper Lee. Never wrote anything but one of the greatest classics to come from an American novelist.

Emily Couldn't a one hot wonder also be an author who has one good/popular book and then a bunch of flops?

Emily, I definitely agree with that. Just like with musicians, some make one really good song and a bunch of terrible ones!

Kjerstin (kjerstinkaye) I wish that Octavia E. Butler hadn't died before she could make a sequel to Fledgling by Octavia E. Butler ! Its my favorite vampire book!

Haha I remember that song! I really liked it when it came out, but haven't heard of him since.

Kelly A. | 499 comments I just read and reviewed Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and due to the success of the book, I was pretty surprised to find out it's the only one he's written!
