Anita (anitaw) | 166 comments I've been reading the Nightwalkers series by Jacqueline Frank, and I'm finding that what I love about it is that the author spends 3/4 of the pages developing characters and the romance - only a small percentage goes to violence, war, action/adventure. When I think about it, I started liking the Anita Blake series when it turned away from action/gore towards more romance. Similarly, I've liked Black Dagger Brotherhood less with every book as the war grows in prominence. I'm trying a whole lot of new series right now, since I exhausted my favorites a few months ago. TONS of them seem to be homocide mysteries more so than romances. So, my question to you is - can you think of series that spend most of their time on the relationships rather than mystery/suspense/gore/war/homocide?

Jael ~ *~ Syhren ~* ~ (wwwgoodreadscomprofilejael) I have to say that Lynsay's Aregeneau series fits perfectly. I have only read a few books but they rarely have a big fight scene until the very very end and it's very short.

Teresa (teresadamario) | 95 comments I agree with the Argeneau series. Lynsay Sands does a spectacular job of developing the romance.

new_user | 1389 comments I tend to stay away from these kinds of books, but there are a lot like that, actually. Lara Adrian, Deborah Cooke, Susan Krinard (whom I did enjoy), Cynthia Eden (not bad) and many others.

Virginia Have you tried Kathleen Korbel's Nocturne series, Daughters of Myth? I just finished DEADLY REDEMPTION, about the third daughter of the fairy queen, forced into marriage with a prince of the rival clan (because of her screw ups/betrayals in books 1&2). Anyway, very romance-centered story, fabulous dialogue and chemistry between the characters.
