Hi Joe. Welcome! and I'm glad you found us. I think you're in the right place and I'm sure you'll find any number of new things to read.

In other news,welcome!
Welcome Joe, we have been having some really great discussions lately both in the monthly "group read" and in spontaneous discussions of all sorts so I'm sure you will find something interesting.
Take a look in some of the past group read threads and feel free to comment. The threads never close and the discussion never really ends.

The first book I read all the way through and actually remembered was The Saint in New York by Leslie Charteris from 1935 . I loved all the old detective movies and was really thrilled when I found out that most of them were books. I'm in the process of reading all of Dashell Hammet right now. I love the stuff.
I wanted to join a group on goodreads to have a place to talk about what I read with other people. My friend is big into the Horror books and he tells me all of the time about what he's talking about on that group and it sounded cool. Mystery, crime, and thriller just fit what I liked to read so I joined when I found it. Hopefully we can have some good discussions soon.
