Michelle (dejameek) | 4 comments I am fairly new to bodice rippers, but I read one that almost put me off the entire genre. Sexy As Hell I didn't like it because they get married and then he cheats on her. I don't mind all the other stuff in BR, but I really want to avoid adultery. So, any recommendations?

Ledda (bettybamboo) | 3 comments Good question. I'll be interested in the recommendations, too. The majority of BR that I've read and all of my BR favorites have some form of adultery immediately following marriage. Because of the era that the books are written I don't have a problem with reading them. Even though it's disappointing every time the adultery happens.

Michelle (dejameek) | 4 comments Seriously? Well crap. There must be some that don't cheat on their spouse.

SmittenKitten | 189 comments Hero infidelity seems to be a major theme in BRs, so it might be hard to find ones without cheating occurring in some format.

Here are a few I've read that I would still consider BRs (for the most part) even though there is no hero infidelity (*I think - if I'm wrong about any of these, someone please correct me):

The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss The Flame and the Flower (Birmingham, #1) by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss Tender Betrayal by Jennifer Blake Embrace and Conquer by Jennifer Blake The Game (de Warenne Dynasty, #4) by Brenda Joyce Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught Hearts Aflame (Viking , #2) by Johanna Lindsey Lady Of Fire (Fire, #1) by Anita Mills Forever and a Lifetime by Jennifer Horsman

Jennifer Horsman also has two others that have the forced-seduction BR element, however the hero does cheat but it is literally only mentioned in 1 sentence in both books.

Magic Embrace by Jennifer Horsman Crimson Rapture by Jennifer Horsman

SmittenKitten | 189 comments If you don't like a cheating hero, then definitely stay away from these:

Stormfire by Christine Monson Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers The Conqueror (de Warenne Dynasty, #1) by Brenda Joyce Seized by Love (Russian series/Kuzan Family series, #1) by Susan Johnson Caress and Conquer by Connie Mason

Lorraine | 27 comments All Johanna Lindsey books are free of cheating. So are all of Laurie McBain's and Kathleen Woodiwiss's.
