Steph (angel4492) | 32705 comments I've seen in reviews and group chatter where characters are referred to as being TSTL (Too Stupid To Live). Makes me laugh, but it's true, yah? There are those (mostly) female characters that are just ... TSTL, yet they usually do, with the help of others.

So, which character in which book(s) do you think are TSTL?
Side-question: Do you think the author intended to create a character like that?

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1854 comments Darkfever! That's the first one that comes to mind. Mac shoulda died several times over in that book alone! Buuuuut, I think it was the author's intention to make her TSTL to start off with to give her room to grow later.

I really dislike stupidity used as a plot device. Yeah, sometimes people do stupid things, but for me there is a difference between taking the initative and something not working out right, and being passive or making no effort to use any common sense.

LOL! Yeah, she should'a. But, I agree in thinking that was the author's way of giving her (lots) of room to grow within the series.

I'm with you, if they have no common sense or don't use the sense they do have, then (to me) they are TSTL. :)
