Brittomart You know, I think with RA....we can start.

message 52: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart If no one else signs up, would y'all like two groups of of 4, and one with 5? Or 4 groups of 3 and one with 4 people?

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

2 of 4 and 1 of 5 if that's the choice. I'm getting a bit nervous now. What if my postcard ideas aren't up to scratch?

message 54: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Gail, I wouldn't worry about it. We're all friends here, and we're just excited to be getting cards from one another! I'm sure your ideas are great!

message 55: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Ideas? Hmm...are we making these things from scratch--as in scissors and glue, etc.? Hadn't really been thinking along those lines...Is the interesting store-bought image okay too?

message 56: by Brittomart (last edited Oct 24, 2010 08:57AM) (new)

Brittomart All of mine are store-bought, so yeah. I thought a lot of people are gonna have store-bought ones.

message 57: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I think I'll be going that route too, Britt.

message 58: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Okay, so it feels like this thread has been up for longer than 3 days, but since it's only been three days, I'll give it until Wednesday. I really wanted to assign groups today, buttttt no.

So the deadline is Noon, Wednesday October 27.

message 59: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) this is going to be fun!

message 60: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, I plan to hand pick each persons postcard. (Not make them by hand.) The search for the right postcard will be fun.

message 61: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart If we have two more people sign up, we could have 3 nice groups of 5..

message 62: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments If I draw your name, Gail, I promise to hand pick the carrier pigeon who will wing the postcard down to Australia. Have to find a healthy one...

Yay, I promise to feed it for the return journey.

smetchie | 4034 comments Jesus do I have to sign up AGAIN to get on the list. I'm in forgodsakes! I'm in. You already have my address, right Britt?

message 65: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Yes, I have your address. Oh, and did you ever get my card from the bingo?

message 66: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Yes! Didn't I say?

I was the:

I thought I posted this already. If I didn't, THANKS!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm confused as to what to do? Is this like a shebang exchange, one postcard for each participant? Do I write a personal note to each person? Do I sent the cards to Britt? When do I send them?

So many questions! Sorry! Confused!

message 68: by Brittomart (last edited Oct 25, 2010 03:55PM) (new)

Brittomart You don't send the cards to me. Everyone is sending the cards themselves.

Okay, this is how it's going down.

When everyone has signed up, I'm going to assign the groups. After I assign the groups, I'm going to send EVERYONE a message with their group members' addresses. You then address your postcards, write your personal note or whatever on the card, stamp each card, and put them in the mailbox.

This doesn't work like the mix CD shebangs. Everyone is mailing their own cards.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments "an message" Britt. :)

message 72: by Brittomart (last edited Oct 25, 2010 03:55PM) (new)

Brittomart Oh, sorry! I know my definite and indefinite article rules, I swear!

message 73: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Sometime tonight, y'all are getting messages with names and addresses

message 74: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart For some reason, Alecia is signed up twice

message 75: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Here are the groups. I'm trying to find out if there's a missing person, so if you signed up, and you don't see your name here, then message me. If not, I'll be sending the groups the addresses tomorrow.

-Sally
-Lori
-RA
-Kate

Group 2:
-Janine

message 76: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Did I send you my address twice or something?

message 77: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart No, it's here only once, but I dunno why I had you listed twice. I'm afraid that I meant to type in someone else's name, and I put yours for some reason. But I posted the groups to double check.

message 78: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Okay, I've sent out the addresses to everyone now. If you did not get a PM from me, please let me know.

Tip: Just in case you didn't know this (I didn't for a long time), if you are sending a postcard, and you are in the US sending to someone else in the US, you don't have to get a 44 cent stamp. You can use a 28 cent stamp.

message 79: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I put my group's in the mail last night! Everyone's getting a different one. I wonder if I should have kept records of who got what for future shebang postcard events.

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

Damn, I haven't purchased the postcards yet. Thats tomorrows task.

message 81: by smetchie (new)

smetchie | 4034 comments Me neither gail.

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh goodie, I don't feel like I am letting you down now. :)

message 83: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I'm buying cards today and hope to mail them on Monday--except of course for yours, Gail, which I will instead 'pop in the post' to you.

message 84: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart This weekend I'm writing the cards and putting them in the mail on Monday.

message 85: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i bought one card already, i'll buy some more on monday.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No cards yet, I'll fix that today. :)

message 87: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateharper) | 206 comments I'm working on them right now.

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

I've got the cards. Now what do I write?

message 89: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Write: "SALLY IS THE COOLEST" on them all.

message 90: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Speaking truth.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay got it.

Dear Jackie.

"SALLY IS THE COOLEST"
and Larry is a dirty scoundrel a sweetheart.

Love Gail

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

Two things.
1) The size of the stamp was almost as big as the post card, grrrrr.
2) My handwriting is shit. It used to be something I was proud of.

Ummmm, yes I have posted them. Australia Post is extremely efficient so if you don't have them tomorrow the fault is at your end.

message 93: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Gail, I just had a couple move on my route that has lived in your fair land for the last 12 years. :)

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

I can't imagine why they would want to return once they experienced life in Oz. :)

message 95: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart UGH! I didn't write cards this weekend...they will be sent sometime this week.

message 96: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i bought my last two cards and wrote something on them. writing cards is difficult! i'll post them this evening or tomorrow.

message 97: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Just put mine in the mailbox.

message 98: by Kevin (new)

message 99: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Are we required to write something witty...cuz I got nothin at the moment!

And I got your post card RA...thank you!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I bought my postcards, but it's pouring today, and my backpack is apparently not waterproof. I'm drying them out before I write anything on them.

They will be very authentically from Washington state, at least.
