JSWolf | 19 comments WOW! I come back to this group and find it rather stagnant. Anyone have any ideas to get this group going?

Adam (adamruger) | 14 comments People don't feel the need to carry on conversations here when all the activity is in the MR forums.

message 3: by Dedale (new)

Dedale | 3 comments good point grooks.
However, I enjoy goodreads as well.

message 12: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) | 44 comments looks like you're gonna have to go round 'em up. Know any cowboys?

message 13: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Good grief, I haven't even gotten around to reading a Western yet. Maybe after that I do that I can do some rustling.

message 14: by Kenny (new)

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) | 44 comments Ha!

You might start with Cormac McCarthy - No Country for Old Men.

or
The Border Trilogy - All the Pretty Horses (The Border Trilogy, Book 1)

There's always Larry McMurtry too.

message 15: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes Thanks for the recommendations as always. I've seen the movie for No Country. I'm thinking All the Pretty Horses or The Virginian or maybe a L'Amour title to start with.

Kenny Chaffin (kennychaffin) | 44 comments My grandfather read those old westerns constantly....never without one. :)

message 18: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes I suppose I have read a couple of Westerns. The Sisters Brothers would be one that fits the bill, but I always think of the old paperbacks. That`s what I am hankering for.

HomeInMyShoes I posted on MobileRead that I have updated the bookclub's bookshelf here. I shall consider my rustling done until I come up with some other idea.

I got all the books shelved according to the vote they won for. It's pretty cool to be able to see all the short story or romance selections there have been. It's almost, but not quite useful.

Very fun! Thank you.

HomeInMyShoes Sound the alarm Someone has infiltrated the group! :)

I'll be getting the literary ones in there at some point. I like that I can look through and see how I rated the various selections. Oddly enough, for how much I complain about not enjoying the classic selections, the ones actually voted for in the classics months have been very well received by me.

message 27: by Nyssa (new)

Nyssa Thank you, kindly!

I've decided to help HiMS out by adding the dates read to the bookshelf. It may take me a few days to complete, however, since RL is has me running around like a chickenless-head for the next few months.

Well, I only added through February of 2010, but its a start. Hopefully someone will be inspired to add the dates to another year or two worth of books. I'm going to get some sleep, so I don't yell at other people's children (too much) tomorrow.

message 29: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes That would be a good thing. Probably.

Thanks for the help.
