What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read a book when I was in middle school, and I remember enjoying it and wanting to finish the series... however I think my mom threw the book out, and I cannot remember what it was called or who wrote it!
The plot from what I can remember is this: there is a pyromancer who was badly burned during a fight, and he wears a horrifying mask that looks just like his real burned face. The main bad guy was a vampire king of some sort, and the pyromancer rescues a princess or something from the vampire and his minions. I know it isn't a lot to go on, but I'm hoping someone here knows this book.

Is it The Forging of the Shadows? I have not read it, but from what I have found it involves vampires and a "disfigured priest of the Flame." There's also a high priestess, so maybe that's your "princess"?

Well the descriptions weren't good enough to determine if that was the book or not, but amazon let me read the first several pages and that is definitely it. Thanks!

The reviews I saw weren't very kind to it, so I might not like it as much now that I am older... oh well. I'll check it out from the library and see how it is.
