Indonesians Who Love English Books discussion
Hello and Welcome!

What Are You Reading?
Done with A Visit from Goon Squad which is a bit weird and at first I couldn't get it, why there are so many characters, but toward the end I got it. It was nicely done.
Then after that I read The Secret History which is awesome! I like it more than The Goldfinch. I think people should read it!

That's why I'm mixing it up with some Indonesian books."
It's in my TBR. I was worried I'm gonna stuck too XD esp since I'm not a fan of Secret History :p

Why didn't I realize that World After by Susan Ee is out? I am like, almost one year late to the party.
Is it disappointing, Winona? Angelfall was so good, so I guess it might be hard to up the original. I will still read it though. Soon, I hope!
So many books to read ^^"

Reading

The time has finally come for me to read it :P"
INGSOC! Interesting read indeed.
Just finished with Doomed by Chuck Palahniuk. Pretty disappointed with this book actually. It's okay, but I've read better stories from him. :(
Now reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
I've just finished with Galbraith's new book The Silkworm (is he/she is going to put animal in all Cormoran Strike's books?), I think Cuckoo's Calling is better.
Now contemplating whether I should read Englishman in Madrid or Ghost Bride or Gadis Pantai.

As the reading continues my mind goes back and forth from the Japanese occupation era in China to suburb Canada in the present time. It's fun.

I'm starting a travel book, Among the Russians, which is somewhat somber and melancholic (like Russia itself, according to the author). Then another fiction, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which was quite popular apparently. Will see if it lived up to the hype.

And, I don't know if this counts, but I'm also reading an english translation of "Noli Me Tangere". Just started reading, but I like it already.
I just finished Sputnik Sweetheart and I have so many lingering thoughts.
For those who have read it, talk to me please on our Haruki Murakami thread!

Starting another travel book, In Siberia. Same author, wondering if this one was a spin-off off his previous book Among the Russians.

Since I'm still in my mourning period (because end of a great series always caused this), I choose Lola and the Boy Next Door for the next read - a (hopefully) lighter book that might boost up my mood

meanwhile, Eiji Yoshikawa's Musashi stuck at the third chapter.
I went on a YA binge guys. I've recently finished Lola and the Boy Next Door, Isla and the Happily Ever After, The 5th Wave and These Broken Stars. And now currently reading Siege and Storm.

For a change of pace, I picked up a humorous book about Africa: Whatever You Do, Don't Run: True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide. I hope this one will lift my mood :)

Now I'm reading Daughter of Smoke & Bone. I'm at about 27% and things are getting very interesting.

I'm not really a seasonal reader but I've been curious about this book for quite a while. Plus, it's December so it's the perfect time to read it :)

Planning to read We Were Liars next :)

Alongside, I'm also reading: The Light Between Oceans. Still okay, so far.

Aakh, I missed this comment!
I've read it too, Ren, and loving it like mad! Best of Nalini's book so far!

I really like Angelfall and thinking of buying World After, but after reading your comment (and the book's reviews) I think I'll postpone it.
