Answer questions for an article about TNBBC!

Hey Anastasia!
Guys - please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. I met Anastasia last month in NYC at the Brooklyn Book Festival - and she is a super sweet chick. I would be indebted to you all forever and ever if you could find the time to reply to her post here, and answer the questions for her article.
I want you to be brutally honest and can't wait to see what you have to say!

Okay, so I realize that the question list is a bit overwhelming. You do NOT have to answer all of them! I would be more than content if you put your two cents in even just a couple of them. Also, someone asked me to clarify a few things before they answered the questions, and I figured I'd address them here, in case anyone else was thinking the same thing:
1. Are you doing the interview in a personal or professional capacity? I'm a student at CUNY Grad school of Journalism in NY. I'm writing the article for class, but I will be pitching it to literature publications so that (hopefully) it will get published.
2. In what publication will the interview appear? As of now, only my professor will see it, but I hope to get it run elsewhere; perhaps NY City News Service (it's an online pub, if you want to look it up).
3. Will my first and last name appear in the article if I answer the questions? If you're comfortable with your name appearing, then yes. If not, then I am willing to use your username only.
4. When you ask for our name, age, profession and location what are you trying to "validate" and why is a "validation" necessary? When I say "validate," I mean that when you read newspaper articles, it usually mentions something about the person giving the quote. This helps so that it doesn't seem like something I just made up or faked. For example, most times you see something like:
"I visit TNBBC website eight times a day!" said John Doe, a 34-year-old professor at Columbia University."
... It basically adds depth and validity to an article.
5.Am I supposed to answer the questions as a post on the thread you made? You can answer the questions in any format you like, either via the thread or messaged to me. I figured if people wanted to answer a few here or there, then they could leave a quick thought in the thread. But for those who are more ambitious to answer all the questions and who don't want it flaunted on the thread, they can message me.
I hope that helps and makes you all more willing to answer! Hope to hear from you all!

Thanks so much to those who messaged me their answers. One great thing about this group is the friendliness of its members -- including authors. Since I have all the info I need, I'm going to let Lori go ahead and close down further comments on this thread, but I just wanted to say thank you again for helping me out!
:) Happy November!
Thanks Anastasia and I hope you got some info to help with the writing of the article!

So I'm currently writing an article about Lori and The Next Best Book Club. We've already talked (extensively) and I'm sure Lori is somewhat relieved to pass the interviewee torch (thanks for being a good sport, Lori!), so I'm turning to you all - members of TNBBC. If you'd like to be used in the article, please answer the following questions. Also, for validation, I'll need to have your name, age, profession & location. I totally understand if you're not comfortable putting that info in this thread, so if you post a comment, I'll most likely reach out to you (via GR message) for your additional info.
Lori's given me her blessing & I hope with 7,000+ members that you guys are willing to talk about how great TNBBC is!
Let the questions begin:
- Why did you join TNBBC?
- What do you think about the fact that TNBBC has so many members?
- What's the best thing about being part of TNBBC group?
- What's your most memorable TNBBC memory?
- Is there a downside of having so many members?
- How long have you been a GR member? Member of TNBBC?
- On average, how often (per day or week or month) do you log into GR? TNBBC?
- How often do you contribute to discussions & post in threads?
- How often do you participate in the monthly book read and discussion?
- Have you discovered new/unknown authors/books because of something you read in this group? If so, who/what book?
- Do you visit or read TNBBC blog?
- On average, how many books do you read per month?
- Are you part of a "real-life" book club? Have you ever been? Why/why not?
- In your opinion, what's the appeal of an online book club?
- What is your main source of books (library, bookstore, ebook) and how often do you get/buy books?
You don't have to answer all the questions, but it'd be awesome if you did :) If you're not comfortable posting your answers on the thread, feel free to message me.
Like I said, I would be SO appreciative for you guys' input. I can't wait to see your answers! And thanks, again, Lori for being so helpful during my questions AND for being the Super Mod that you are!
