I have never read any Anne of Green Gables, or watched the movies. I started the Little House series and loved them, but grew out of them before I'd finished all the books. I probably read half the series. My niece and nephew have all the Little House tv episodes on tape and watch them over and over, so I've seen a bunch of them, but I didn't watch them back when they were on the TV.

Susan | 6406 comments I watched the the t.v. show and really enjoyed it but don't remember much after Mary was in a fire. The books belonged to my sister so I ended up reading them the first time when I was pretty young. I read her copy of The Unloved by John Saul around the same time.

Kailey (lukutuokka) Poetry is the number one thing that I reread. I think it is the most likely to yield something new.

That's probably true. First read-throughs of poetry tend to leave a lot of stuff not quite comprehended, at least for me.

The only re-read so far this year for me has been Jane Eyre.

Now I'm rereading Glamorama. Not really sure why because it's a terrible book.

I'm on my third reading. Interesting.

Félix (habitseven) Someone recommended that book to me a long time ago.

message 163: by Marie (new)

Marie I do not re-read books unless it is a book that I haven't read in a very long time. IMO there is no sense in re-reading a book if you are going to remember everything that happens from page to page. To me, books are a mystery waiting to be discovered and if I have already discovered it, then where is the mystery. :)

message 164: by Anonymous (new)

Anonymous | 6 comments Dork Diaries, Middle School, Diary of a wimpy kid, Percy Jackson book and much more.

message 165: by Susan (new)

Susan Budd (susanbudd) I never used to reread. Then I read Experiment in Criticism by C. S. Lewis and he inspired me to start rereading. Now about half the books I read are rereads and I love it. I feel like I get so much more from a book the second time, especially when it’s a book I first read in my youth.

I sometimes reread a book if I think I want to donate it, just to make sure I will never want to read it again. I just reread Headlong so I could donate it.
