Félix (habitseven) Wonderful! I know several people who lost their jobs over the past couple of years who are still unemployed.

It's great you have a few days off before you start the new job. You can relax and really enjoy being unemployed. :)

I know! I know people too that are still unemployed. :-( I feel so lucky.

Definitely! Because as I said on the "When I" thread, I haven't been able to enjoy it.

It's not as exciting as getting the job but it's an accounting position. I'll be upkeeping pricing in our system that I will get from the vendors and a bunch of other accounting things. It's for a company called Fixtures Living and that's what they/we do...Fixtures (bathroom and kitchen, range hoods, built in bbqs) for residential and commercial builders.

The president of the company was a former president for my former company and there are several people who work that that I used to work with at my last company. The building industry is very nepotistic. We all seem to go from company to company. This is the third company I will be working for. But the vibe of the company feels good and positive, which is something I've missed for a long time.

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments I went to my new workplace yesterday and it is awesome! I got a huge hug from one of the guys I used to work with at my last company. No cubicles and my desk is right smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle which I love.

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments So, I went in this morning and I was taught how to use the $13,000 Espresso Machine and they made me freshly ground coffee with freshly steamed milk. I think everyone came by to introduce themselves and welcome me, even the president of the company. The vibe is so positive. It was great.

And I got an iPhone today! Today rocked. Tomorrow: more freshly ground coffee with steamed milk. :-)

Heidi, how was your first day?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Great to hear your first day was so successful Jaimie. It makes me wish I drank coffee. :)
