Are you good with comebacks?

I am when I write it down. FTF, I'm still obsessing over what I should've said 3 days later...

Britt's plight reminds of that Seinfeld episode where George spends a week trying to invent a comeback against Reilly, a fellow employee with the NY Yankees. When he finally comes up with one - "The jerk store called...they're running out of you." - Reilly immediately replies, "What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller!"
You gotta have it in you. I can come up with a snappy comeback pretty quickly, but the trick is to just go ahead and say something, and not think about it. Even if it's borderline offensive. Okay, maybe not.

Too much cheerleading?

Too much cheerleading?"
Something like that :-)

(She did then go left, but I think I led her astray with my wittiness, since left was beer, and judging from her cart in line later, she was there for wine.)

Heidi, I must have been writing my comment when you posted your post. Thanks for the big ups!

I've always wanted to be good at quick comebacks, but I gotta think about it. But I've gotten better at it, and sometimes I'm on fire, sometimes I'm just like, "Man, whatever man, shut up." AND THEN I think of a comeback like, 5 hours after the exchange happened. There's a term for that! Here's the wikipedia link to prove it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L'es...
